Ever since the Malace at the Palace in 2004? Pacers vs Pistons brawl the NBA severely cracked down on player reactions and physical altercations in efforts to eliminate brawls.

You guys need to watch the old 80s and 90s fights before the malice to see what they used to get away with. Real brawls
@zo_leo8401 Жыл бұрын
As stated in a few comments already. The NBA has really cracked down on fighting and clearing the bench. For example if they start pushing and shoving and your step one foot in the court you will be suspended guaranteed. Fighting will also be a guaranteed long suspension. So that’s why it’s usually relegated to the teammates normally not going super hard at the other team for offenses.

It use to be like that in the nba but the malice in the palace stopped all of that. They use to throw punches. Look at a basketball fouls and fights before the malice in the palace. You'll see the difference

4:30 - if you leave the bench for an altercation, you'll most likely get suspended.
@carlosmoreno4802 Жыл бұрын
You definitely will. Since the Malice at the Palace, leaving the bench is an automatic ejection and a one game suspension.

Dont let harden confuse you. Hes an instigator. Not so much now but in his Houston days... majority of those fights were because of him. lmfaoo.

4:00 Marcus Smart literally did that in the clip, and the clip prior had Dudley doing it to Embiid. It happens all the time in the NBA. Throwing hands will get you in some deep shit though.

You have to be fully in place (completely still) performing a screen before contact, the otherwise it’s a foul.

-In basketball, you don't have the numbers. If everyone went to fight, you wouldn't have a team to play the game or subsequent games. Baseball has a farm system to pull from if need be, plus a massive roster.

Trey Young had pulled a similar move earlier in the season showing up another player by dribbling the ball through his legs. Most vets thought it was a bush league play, when he tried on Arisa, that's what he got.

In the NBA, they Will heavily fine you and suspend if you get involved or start a fight. Not worth the millions your gonna lose on top of being suspended

Greyson Allen looks like every spoiled Duke kid with rich parents. Edit : I like Trey Young, he has to work with his limited size...but holy hell does he flop like crazy. Any level of contact puts him into a fake seizure.

There's rules in basketball not to leave ur bench for whatever drama that is taking place on the court. I know they suspended players for doing that between 1 ta 2 games; maybe more if ya do something extra .

Now, in the NBA, any player who leaves the bench to join a fight or altercation will be elected immediately from the game, heavily fined, and suspended from future games.The NBA has a strict "leaving the bench" policy.

If you really want to watch NBA games with prison rules, check out the late 80's and 90's. The majority of the situations in this video would've been regular fouls back in the day...no ejections.

That's a very European take of clearing the bench for altercation. There's heated moments in American sports sure but these guys are mostly friends and understand the privilege to do what they do for the most part. They can disconnect the game from any actual ill intent

@tyreek.6815 Жыл бұрын
Basketball is just like that lol. It's just more contained bc its a contact sport. Dont get me wrong baseball can get physical but in basketball and football it's expected in the culture of physically. Respectfully in soccer when it happens they do be standing up but most of the time they just yapping at the person or ref. But unlike baseball when it happens, rather than immediately squaring up, its more so defusing the situation than fighting back in all the other sports. Now if they see it has mal-intent (which is rare) then they will stand up for them in the way you're talking about.
@nicjones2273 Жыл бұрын
The reason why football players and basketball players are more hesitant to jump right in a brawl is becuase they will get thrown out of the game and reason hefty fines and suspensions. It's an unwritten policy, that sports that black athletes play in are more stringent whereass in hockey and baseball those players who are not predominately black get to react and fight. It's a racist thing in case you didn't know.

Teammates only rush in when it comes to baseball because the game is so long and boring, and nothing exciting ever happens. 99% of the time you're literally doing nothing unless you're a pitcher or catcher.
