Ed O'Neill was a serious dramatic movie actor, before "Al Bundy". The producers had seen dozens of actors and no one was working out. One guy on the team had suggested Ed a couple of times, but no one could see him in the role, finally after they had seen, literally, everyone else they asked him to come in and read. They said within a matter of seconds they knew they had found their "Al Bundy".

Ed O'Neil, who plays Al, was also the star of Modern Family which just ended in 2020 after 11 hugely successful seasons. He married up in that show, having Sofia Vergara playing his wife! The "Best Gloria and Jay Moments" might be a worthy compilation...although very different than Married with Children for sure.

Ed O'Neil played Relish, The Troll King one of my favourite shows ever: The 10th Kingdom. And it always amazes me how I can totally forget that he's Al Bundy. Good reaction video, Kudos. One note, the quip about England was a reference to the 1700's English Politicians who wanted to control this land and its people. Not about modern day England. We here in the states, for the most part, feel our countries have worked through those past issues and consider the English people our Brothers and Sisters. There are still a few morons who can't let go of the past and are offended by most everything, but we just ignore them. lets face it, there will always be an intellectually deficient percentage of the population and you just can't fix Stupid.

6:59 Shocked to see former heavyweight boxer Randall "Tex" Cobb as the victim of Al's beating here. Cobb actually looks like he fared better here than in the brutal beating he took from former champ Larry Holmes (which made many commentators call for an end to boxing). Cobb famously had the cartilage from his nose removed so it wouldn't get broken so easily in the ring.
