Part of his appeal is his delivery. He starts a lot of his sentences with "Dude," which makes you feel like he's talking to you, not putting on an act for an audience. Its very subtle and smart.

Yeah he talks onstage exactly how he just talks on his solo podcast and podcasts with his friends, except maybe a little louder for the context. Realized that's a reason I like his comedy so much, other comedians seem too robotic now

3 first? Killing em softly, for what its worth and? Chappelle's two first are some of the funniest standup specials made together with Raw and Delirious. But if you go by currently released material (past 5 years) Bill Burr blows Chappelle out of the water as Dave has become more of a preacher/storyteller than comedian.

I think Burr in the last ten years has amassed more great material than any comedian ever. Murphy had only two specials. Dave had two good ones. Etc... Going to see Burr on Sunday night actually. Third time.

Yea I prefer Burr over Chappelle. Chappelle tells funny stories, he doesn't really tell "jokes". Though Louis CK's my favorite. Louis and Bill have always been full-time stand-up comics. Their success never came from a tv-show. They grinded comedy clubs for several decades and it shows. They have real jokes, instead of leaning on a mic stand and discussing politics or telling stories. Chapelle's good for sure, one of the best today, but over-hyped imo.

Bill Burr and George Carlin are on different levels of comedy. George Carlin was a philosopher. He used comedy to share a message in a time when the message was not always welcome. He made you think, even if you were offended. I rewatch George Carlin more than any other comedian. Bill Burr makes poignant statements between jokes, but nowhere near to the same level. More of a gut check reaction than enough to make you think.

I love Bert but he is not on the same level as Tom and Bill. Bill is arguably a top 5 comedian of all time and Tom is consistently one of the funniest deadpan comedians. Bert is a good story teller and a really funny guy, but not on top of the game.

Ricky Gervais. I'm from Florida but a friend of mine in Manchester put me on to him. He's the only British comedian I can think of that could compare to some of the American comedians. Ive watched his shows like The Office, Derek and An Idiot Abroad and loved them. Gervais' standups are also good.

As an American I can say that I love British comedians like Lee Mack and Jimmy Carr and Johnny Vegas on panel shows but I haven’t seen much British standup. I’d agree that I prefer American stand up but British panel shows.

It’s crazy tho how much of an impact the presence of an animal has to an eco system one example is the yellow stone national park at one point it looked like a desolate dessert because there were to many non predatory species so they introduced some wolfs in the area in about a year literally forests grew
