Thank you for that video. I sit in a semi truck for hours and I always had a soar tail bone after sitting for so long. I bought a cushion like that one. I'll finally travel more comfortable. Thank you Dr Jo. 👍

I just had a fall directly onto my coccyx from a standing position while getting off my bike, landed onto hard packed dirt 3 days ago. I am a nurse & immediately started ibuprofen, ice, pelvic floor PT exercises, TENS. Today I got a U-cut out orthopedic cushion. I woke up this morning and felt better than I have been but after sitting on the cushion for about 2 hours for work my tailbone area started hurting badly with the pain newly radiating across the buttocks, almost like a sciatic pain. Before it spread to my legs I stood up & have now been standing for the rest of the day. My question is, is that normal with these cushions? Should I no longer use it or should I try a different style? I am subscribed.

They are suppose to relieve the pain, so that's not normal. Unfortunately, I don't know if you should try something else since I can't evaluate you. It really just depends on what specifically is going on to cause the pain.

Dr Jo, I've been told to follow Mckenzie and McGill exercises to treat my sciatica but some seem to be contrary to one another. What would you recommend?

Hopefully you are in good health now but if still struggling with it. Please check out Dr bergs technique for sciatica where he works on opposite leg. Work's like a charm

Hello Mam. I am suffering from tail bone pain from last 2 months. On doing MRI we found L4 L5 AND l5 S1 disc budget. I am on medications from last 2 months but no relief. I am not able to do relative excercise also as no relief from pain. Please advise

Dr Jo I am a student and I spent a lot of time seating I have tailbone pain. When I was teenager I had one donut pillow ( I don’t have it anymore) now 10 years after I want to buy again but I don’t know what to choice the donut or the cushion pillow? You would help me a lot.

My problem is that if I sit a long time my coccyx (tail bone) hurts like all get out. Short times, rarely. This has been going on for years. After watching your video, I do notice I may sit in reclined position in the computer chair (not working, just chilling and watching Doctor Jo videos) just as I do in the recliner so I may be putting pressure on that area, but how else are you to relax/recline at the computer or tv? Cushion looks good.

LOL! Or watching the Gamecocks play :-) Lounging at an angle is okay, but when you "slump" is when a lot of pressure gets put on the coccyx area.

Hi @askdoctorjo I’m looking for a wedge to use with my office chair and car to help with the pelvic tilt. I’m working with a pelvic floor specialist and she said to get a wedge but all I see on Amazon are full out seat cushions. Would they act the same as a wedge?
