Thank you so much for the heel/toe raise tip! I've had DVT before so I'm very prone to swelling/post DVT flare-ups. My job requires 8 hours of sitting a day so that heel/toe method and compression socks really works wonders. Haven't had flare-ups in months! 🙌

That’s what I get but I get it after about an hour and it’s like an ache that gets worse the longer I sit down abs I have to walk around before it gets better but not for like at least an hour after till it’s better

Is it possible to have shin splints or sore in the tibial area after a prolonged sitting. I’m into a month of remote meetings and classes, my lower extremities are tired, sometimes my knees are sore... kinda curious if it has anything to do with the hours of long sitting or position? Am I the only one experiencing this...

What i do to relieve pain from sitting too long is eating vitamin B with redoxone, because i think we all get that uncomfortable feeling after sitting for too long is because we just have deficiancy in vitamin thatvare related to muscle and bones.

Thanks! Do you think this would explain why I need to kneel after a few steps for the pain on the leg to subside? It started after sitting for too long. I have no pain on the lower back. And it feels like a nerve being dramatically stretched only on the left leg. Pain goes away if I kneel. Comes back after a few steps

Dear Dr. Jo, The first exercise you recommend for your listeners who sit for most of the day is seated hip flexion, which strengthens the illiopsoas muscle. Can you kindly explain why you would encourage hip flexion strengthening? It would appear that, in fact, those who sit for long periods of time develop hip flexion tightness, and the remedy should be stretching of this muscle group, not strengthening. Strength and tightness are completely different things. When you strengthen something, it doesn't become tight, it becomes strong. Besides, this is to take pressure off the buttocks area while you are sitting as well.

hello. 2Stephen Foster: my dad had your symptoms. my issue is pain from food allergies: meat. sugars and cheese. plus i have herniated disks. if u dont have food allergies, then try whole food plant based diet for 6 months. i hang by my arms, or have someone step on my back when i am in pain. i take borox, fish oils, vitamins b12 & d3, magnesium, qocu10 and glucosamine irregularly. let me know in 6 months . thanks. Blood clots will happen eventually. I developed some from sitting and now I'm at risk for stroke.

Thanks. I have had a sedentary job for over a decade. I have been suffering with excruciating deep buttock pain and more so on the right for several years now. I have be tried numb hairs and cushions too. I was wondering if using one of those large exercise balls with a stand as a chair would benefit me?

It might. They are a great way to work on some balance and core strengthening while you work.

Wow great video 😎. I wonder if there are there other conditions that could give u this pain similar to sciatica or dvt like bakers cyst or something. Anyone got any ideas?🤔

Will that cushion help for sitting on the couch too ? Like my couch is so soft and sitting while bottle feeding baby is causing so much pain in my sits bones snd hamstrings and hips and back and shoulders

I've noticed I became more prone to have hamstring tightness because I had a wierd growth spurt and my femurs grew extra long compared to rest of my body and lower legs. Can having long femurs cause this?

Hello Doc. In my case I don't feel any pain, what I feel is burning sensation in my lower back, just above my butts. I really sit for long hours. It seems to be spreading to my chest and now my right hand elbow. Any particular video you can refer me to? Thanks.

Have you been to your doctor for a diagnosis? That could be a number of things.

@@AskDoctorJo Thanks for your swift response. I did some months back. He said it has to do with blood circulation and gave me some drugs to use. I think antibiotics. No tests NOTHING! 🤔
