SS would be responsible for trusting local enforcements but that’s nothing new as they can’t do it by themselves. Being told that there's a guy on the roof during a rally would definitely fall under the "Oh, OK, let me go check this stupid account out" category. The security detail probably thought it was someone trying to get a better view. I find it more troubling that a bunch of civilian onlookers were able to spot the guy well before he took the shots and yet Trump's personal attachment saw nothing (or did nothing upon sighting the guy). I'm withholding conspiracy theories at the moment and going with the incompetence excuse, which is par for the course for the worst major presidential candidate in American history.

in one article (not sure which, sorry), one of the witnesses says they had been facing in the direction of the shooter and fired back immediately in that same direction. On of the witnesses interviewd on TV - the gynecologist I believe, tall guy in red shirt - says he was astounded how fast the secret service fired back. And Greg the witness with the visor who told the BBC he tried to alert cops to the shooter, had security service watch him (the witness) with binoculars the whole time. I suppose they were also monitoring the strange guy on the roof, waiting for him to be apprehended - instead of outright shooting him.

"the officer retreated" - this is very vague. Did the officer have his gun drawn? Was he somehow surprised by the gunman? Why would there not have been an exchange of gunfire? Seems like the officer could have had the element of surprise as the gunman probably wouldn't expect that someone had followed him up on the roof.

Is there anything to corroborate the officer's story? Because one witness who said his group was 50 feet away from the shooter, they notified officers and secret service said that they were not doing anything about it. This report does not seem to match up with the witness report. Is there video of the officer going on the rooftop? Just not so sure if this is true or if it's damage control.

I never saw that in the Videos that I saw , Sky News has (or had) several vids from different angles clearly showing people telling the po po about him on the roof for 3 mins before the Shooting but didn't see where law enforcement was EVER on the building till the sniper took him Out,FACTS!
