The rookies become the prime suspects after it is discovered a large sum of money used in a drug bust has gone missing.
Nolan and Bishop respond to a car accident and finds the victim has been stabbed, but the injured man escapes from the ambulance and flees the scene. To their surprise, he turns up at the station and is revealed to be an undercover officer investigating a drug cartel. Suited up in tactical gear, the LAPD raids the drug cartel's home before the transfer can occur, and the rookies are put in charge of the scene until the LAPD money counters arrive. The counters finish, and $250,000 is missing. The rookies are interrogated and cleared after a polygraph test. Later, the cartel members who escaped the raid attack Chen, believing that she took the missing money.
The Rookie is an American police procedural crime drama television series created for ABC by Alexi Hawley. The series follows John Nolan, a man in his forties, who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department. The series is based on real-life Los Angeles Police Department officer William Norcross, who moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the department in his mid-40s.
The series stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin Jr., Mercedes Mason, Melissa O'Neil, Afton Williamson, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore and Eric Winter.
