The rookies become the prime suspects after it is discovered a large sum of money used in a drug bust has gone missing.
Nolan and Bishop respond to a car accident and finds the victim has been stabbed, but the injured man escapes from the ambulance and flees the scene. The counters finish, and $250,000 is missing. The rookies are interrogated and cleared after a polygraph test. Later, the cartel members who escaped the raid attack Chen, believing that she took the missing money.

If all three full time SWAT teams are busy at another call LAPD has tactical gang surveillance, tactical narcotic surveillance, or crime suppression/counterterrorism platoons they can ask to step in before mutual aid from the Sheriff's special enforcement bureau. No way patrol does anything besides perimeter lol

The closest patrol is getting to something like this is if there is either part time SWAT officers near by OR there is just a wild set of urgency to the situation that requires immediate police intervention. But if it's a planned event, SWAT or all of the ones you mentioned are handing it 🤣

Love that you guys are making these videos. It’s really awesome to see your perspectives as actual police officers on a show that I and so many other people love. I discovered the rookie around a few weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed with this show. I’ve always kind of thought of being a police officer, not bc of this show. I know several parts of it are very unrealistic 😂 I actually said at my preschool graduation I wanted to be a police officer. Not so certain about it now, I’ve noticed there’s a lot of sacrifice involved in it and you really gotta be dedicated to be a police officer.

I love you provided a little insight into UC work. The show has been heavy in UC storylines over the 6 seasons. (I made the Tim Test compilation that you used.) I’m working on one for UC life. I’ve always been curious if how the show explains and portrays UC cops and their life is mostly accurate. It would be cool when I publish it, if you’d do a react video for it. I love to hear your commentary on it. It’s interesting what you said about off-duty. I’ve been compiling all the off-duty arrests in the show as well. I never thought about how that could be an issue. I can see that it is especially since they don’t have body cams. The mention of how cops have to get credit scores checked towards the end - I didn’t really believe that was an actual thing when they did an episode in S2 about Nolan’s credit score. It’s a funny one with Seth Green. Oh i was a little bummed i didn’t get to see you react to Lucy moving to the crime scene apartment. Can someone actually do that? 😂 The next time you see the apartment in S2 it looks heavily renovated. Her apartment has been a prominent set since. Love these! Gotta join the Patreon soon!

@@OnlyCops It's basically magical thinking. I've seen some of the psych studies; not only are polygraphs completely useless, the entire idea of being able tell if someone is lying is false. There is no profession that is good at accurately predicting truth: not police, not psychologists, not spies, no one. It simply isn't a human skill. But everyone likes the IDEA of being able to magically tell if people are telling the truth, so we keep believing that these pseudo-science scams will work. Our desire for them to be true means we keep promoting them and too many professional organizations keep using them. [Note: There is actually one career in the US that has some facility with detecting lies and that's long-term staff at the department of Indian Affairs. Basically, like any other skill detecting lies requires that you know when you're being lied to so that you can learn the patterns. DIA staff learn this because they have someone's account loaded BEFORE the person speaks, so the staff can see the lies as they happen. OTOH, there was only one study that found this effect, so it's not certain.]

On the CAF talk, it shouldnt exist at all. It is straight theft, and has been used far too much as a jackpot for PDs and victims to that theft have no recourse as the items themselves are whats charged, not the people. Traveling a great distance with a large sum of cash to buy a home or car or whatever? Get pulled over, cop claims its going to be used for the commission for a crime" and steal it all. No due process. and many times some of it is pocketed by the officers and underreported from the original amount

I think they could have turned their body cams on for a few minutes at the start and then again at the end confirm that the pile look the same but it's quite possible that body cams didn't have that much capacity back then and couldn't record 8 hours of video. I think you pushed a button and it started recording . It had already been recording and constantly dropping a 30-second buffer so when you push the button it starts saving the data from 30 seconds before the button was pushed.

Yea but for undercover, getting arrested is one thing but having eyes watching you walking out of the station having seen you being arrested is just a big no-no. Cuz crims don't leave station unless cases gets dropped but for a high profile arrest like the ones shown here, they do NOT get released from the station thus the only way the officer can do is to run away from Nolan and his PTO and just leg it away from potential eyes. With the eyes gone then he can go back to the station to declare his status or call his handler.

@45:00 - "Does this sort of thing happen?" -- I can't speak for police, but in casinos all staff have full criminal checks before getting a job, but 90% of all theft is either entirely internal or collusion between staff and customers. UC may make it easier, but it's not necessarily a cause. Being around that much money is a constant temptation and people are people.

I meeeeeaaaan... I'm sure in some smaller size cases rgular cops could do that stuff or small towns? And regular cops got the training and abilities to do tac stuff(especially with active shooter/mass-cass stuff?)? But... If we are talking LA... Wouldn't they have LAPD SWAT, other LAPD tactical units, LASD SEB, other LASD tactical units, CHP SWAT, other CHP tactical units, I would imagine LA would be able to get federal agencies supporting LEA if needed, especially if it is a big drug raid? xD I mean, most big cities have something like High Risk Service, Tactical Robbery, or other similar Tac units that are usually trained for raids, right? xd Also how would somebody hide 250k cash in their uniform/vest/helmet and walk out without anybody at all noticing something is off? xD

Love the show but this was a rough one. Why would none of the 3 have bodycams on while watching the money. The stack of cash looked like 5 or 6 million, not 750k. Why is Lucy on the point? Where is SWAT? Also from a criminals perspective if you think an Officer is bent, you wouldn't attack them you would bribe them more. This is essentially how 95% of the Mexican Police Force became bent. Also, it defies logic that Nolan would break up with Lucy. Shes a 10, hes 40.

2:05 Well BAck in the old days a Dude Named jackie Chan used to do Hong Kong cinema. They couldn't afford stunt matts so they used cardboard boxes. So it could work, but as you point out all ready injured+you probably need to know how to land properly 2:30 Funny. You talk about J damer, while your friend is wearing Michael myers T-shirt.🤣🤣🤣🤣 The Robert Otiz guy.Look like he could be Bencino Delteros twin brother ,from James Bond Licence to kill. Look him up,you'll see that I'm right .Think his character name was Dario,in that movie. 10:54 Have you seen small pissed off ladies??? they are Fierce.Think of them like Critters(From the movie Critters) 12:44 I'm no swat expert. But I've seen demo videos of how the SAS do it. And they don't! line up down the block. Hoping nobody warns the bad guy that you're coming. OFC when the SAS comes for you, they don't need to mirandize you. That makes a little bit of difference. But still. The element of surprise is key Both in SWAT and SAS land. And when a whole bunch of armed Dark Clad people line up down the block from where they gonna strike. It's a fair chance someone could warn the bad guy. But like I said no expert, and the SAS don't have to play nice. When they come in that time is pretty much long gone, and you're about to meet your maker. So a bit different. But a lot of the tactics are the same. 250.000 Dollars would be a pretty big stack. Even if they taped it to their body.It would make em all look like the michelin man. 31:58 I might be very wrong here. But according to imfdb she uses a S&W M&P it allegedly take 9x19 33:28 Noticed how in movies when they hit a fence.Their first reaction is always to stop think, then turn and TRY to go back the same way they came.Instead of moving along the fence So it was a "civilian" that came walking out of the house,Right in front of the wanna be swat team?! Why the fuck did they let him pass.I thought it was their informant or something. Talk about amateur hour

Just a lil request, if you continue the series, pls don’t skip the romance side plots, or go out of order with the scenes. I get that you are just reviewing the actual police scenes, but for people that watch the show a lot, it gets confusing when you skip parts.
