Official Alpha Tek Cave Overseer/Ascension on Ark Survival Ascended!

Today's video takes us into the Tek Cave on the Island to beat the Alpha Overseer and gain Ascension, which unlocks 15 additional levels for our characters and the Tek Binoculars!

This for anyone who’s yet to do it but now with pyromanes you can get the level 600 gigas to follow you into the lava and not have to deal with them then you jump out of the lava

Why put all your items on the stego at the end? Does ascension cause you to lose everything you went in with?

This video was recorded before they enabled transfers, which at the time downloads were turned off. I’m not 100% sure if our items would have gotten deleted, but out of precaution we decided to dump everything on the stegos to be sure we didn’t lose anything. Now that transfers have been opened you should be able to keep everything in your inventory but there is still always a chance something could happen during the download of your character. How can charchar fit inside the door? i wanted to bring spinos can those enter tek cave? back in ASE they wouldnt fit

I was surprised it fit as well, I know the giga won’t fit but it seems carchar is alright… it won’t get through the barrier at the base of the volcano though so has to be cryo’d at that point… as for spinos unfortunately I’m not sure about those, never tried em myself.

Can you still throw cryos on the ledge near the end and walk the dinos to the overseer?

Unfortunately no, with the new requirement for cryos needing to be deployed within range of a cryo fridge there would be no way to throw em out down there... I have not tested this on unofficials that have this requirement turned off however so it may be possible there... If I end up getting a chance to test that I will let you know!

@@GoToGaming thank you. My wife and i are setting up to do alpha tek cave and we have crypods set to same as evolved except i can't get rid of the one minute timer after damage to Cryopod them. We were going in on gigas and throwing rexs out on the ledge but don't want to waste our resources if it's not possible. Haha thank you again 👍🏽

I wish I could be more help, but I definitely wish you luck! I’m not 100% sure if gigas will fit through the front door but I know carchars do, but if it will let you throw your gigas out of cryopods within the door I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to toss out your rexes near the bottom ledge like you could before… here’s hoping that still works!

If i open the cave on alpha and a tribemate which is for example lvl 80 joins the cave and we beat the boss will he get the plus 15 lvls or he should be lvl 105 to get the 15 lvls ??

I have not tested this specifically, but as long as the teleporter takes him up to the overseer arena (I’ve heard mixed things about this, but it should work) he will be eligible for the extra 15 levels… it just raises the cap itself, you do not need to be at 105 to get the extra 15… hope this helps!

You won’t be able to teleport if you’re not high enough level but you can always try see can you get lucky with a glitch or something

Whats the best way to aggro the dragon? Should we go 7stego or 2rex 5stego

We did all stegos, rexes might work but they take a lot more damage… if you are gonna bring some support tames I would suggest theri’s, as they have a reduced damage buff due to being herbivores and you can use veggie cakes in them to heal em up as you go. We plan on running dragon this week with all theri’s, I’ll post a video once we do! Any other questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer!

When entering the Tek Cave, the message prompted you can bring a limit of 50 dinos inside. But can we bring the whole 50 dinos into the overseer's arena? Can they fit in the teleporter? I'm doing soon with full theris army, partner and I mounted on carcha+ 2 yutys.

I'll be completely honest with you, I have never tried that many before so I cannot give you a precise answer, but I know that fitting that many on the teleporter will definitely be a challenge. I tried going in with a bunch of rexes (not exact on the number as I was with allies but it had to be at or north of 20) on ASE and it was almost impossible to fit em all on the teleporter, if you walk em all on and park em indivually it may be possible though... especially since you will be using theris... the biggest problem however is just getting them through the doorway at the top of the cave... you have only 5 minutes to get everything in. On our first attempt at alpha on the island with ASA we planned on bringing close to 20 tames altogether, but everything wanted to bunch up and not move which caused a major traffic jam causing us to leave almost half of our tames outside the cave by the time the door shut. It was a logistical nightmare lol One other thing to note is that the carchars will not make it all the way to the teleporter, as they will not be able to pass the tek barrier at the base of the cave. The other challenge you will run into with that many theris is getting them down the twisting cave, the new follow mechanics are kinda sporatic, and I would guess you would lose at least 25% of your tames from falling off the path and into the lava. You would have to walk em in small groups and keep going back for the others which could eat up valuable time. The bonus to using stegos in this fight with shotguns is they are not affected by the overseer's laser blasts, so you won't get knocked off, and you can use the veggie cakes to keep their health up. From what i understand, you can teleport to overseer multiple times at end of tek cave. Just have to be sure to have level100 plus person behind to TP second batch. Not sure tho

@@hokutomaster89yeah this is correct each person can send the teleporter so if there’s 6 of you all 6 can click the teleport button but I do think there’s a 20 limit inside the overseer

Does the overseers beam knock you off stego?

No it does not, at least not while in the hardened plate mode on stegos… also protects you from being knocked off from purlovias on the way down the mountain. Thanks for watching!

We had 9 players, 10 tames total. 1 Carchar, 3 Rexes and 6 Stegos. The player on the Carchar cryo'd it at the base of the volcano and jumped on the extra stego to complete the fight. Any other questions feel free to ask!

We ran it in ase with 4 ppl and capped 298 shotguns and like 1k bullets each, no tames. Do u know if its still possible? We are gonna still try tonight 😂

You should have no problem in the arena itself, I think the only issue you may run into would just be getting down the volcano itself in time… but if you were able to do it on ASE I don’t see it being a problem lol I wish you luck! Let me know how you make out, I’m kinda curious myself lol

The carcha will fit through the main door to the tek cave and all the way down to the barrier at the bottom... it won't be able to go through the barrier however, so you will have to cryo it at that point to continue on... when we did this we had a spare stego following one of the players so the carcha rider had a mount once we reached the bottom. Sorry for the late reply, I'm just seeing your other messages now, the gear seems good for sure I think you will be ok in that respect, but keep in mind though you won't be able to take the carchas into the overseer arena, they will only be able to be used to traverse down the volcano itself. Stegos are a good mount for the overseer due to the veggie cakes, the ability to shoot from their backs and the fact that they are immune to the knockoff from the overseer's lasers.
