Barabbas may not have accepted the gift, but it was offered to Him. Perhaps I’m not totally correct in my wording here, but I did not mean to imply that Barabbas was given salvation by virtue of this story

AMEN! The enemy comes to kill steal, and destroy. He makes us think we have to earn GODS forgiveness, but we don’t. It’s a free gift to us. He wants us to live in our shame, regret, and downfalls. JESUS says “your forgiven.” We are not our past everyday we are a new creation created by GOD.
