I decided to buy the car after seeing your review, and I built it today. I am impressed how good it looks compared to the speed champions F1 cars. I doubt it is (just) the scale, because the speed champions use fancier new (curved) bricks than this one. Instead: - It has wheels in the proper size. - the color of the stickers match that of the bricks. - the prints are pretty good. - and yes, also because they don't mind putting stickers over multiple bricks. I suspect that some stickers exist because they recognized that printing yellow on dark blue is never going to look good. The weird nose construction can be remedied by connecting the two parts with a plate (from a later step) so that the entire nose is in a hinge. Strange that they did not think of this themselves. Except for the bar that is used internally, the quality of the bricks is rather good. All in all I am pretty happy with it.

Very much appreciate you reviewing non-LEGO, brick-based building models! Had no idea model even existed! Looks pretty good, though definitely not a fan of stickers over multiple bricks [but TLG has done that too in the past].

i built both cars (red bull and alfa romeo) earlier this year and i was pleasantly surprised. Building both cars was a lot of fun. They just look good.

Printed halo even! And print on wheels is much stronger. Talked too soon haha, it's a sticker on the halo. Much be hardest sticker ever.

According to the SetDB, Rastar is using GoBricks. So the brick quality is pretty much perfect.

Thank you for the review, looks really interesting! my hot take: I don't mind sticker over multiple parts if it is a display model, as it usually improves the display quality.

For the nose part of the car I swapped the 2x2 tile with studs that goes on the slope piece with a regular 2x2 so I could link it to the printed tile with the driver's number and doesn't have to rely in a weak conection at the bottom, it's way more stable I got that 2x2 from the engine cover, you can easly put the 2x2 half tile there without conection issues

I hope with the new Lego and F1 partnership we will see all the teams in lego form, my McClaren, Mercedes and Aston Martin F1 look good but would be so much better with a full grid

I believe the Brickset article mentioned they were making sets from all the teams for next year, so I guess they did get the license for everyone!

@@thebrickhiker They better have. Because it would be a big disappointment if they didn't. Besides having a favorite team like some people do. Being very much fans of Noris or Hamilton but also Verstappen. You just need the main teams in it. Mercedes, Ferarri, Mclaren and RB. Ofc Haas, Aston Martin and the rest too. But missing 1 of the big teams would really make it weak. Especially if Lego really wants to give a whole F1 experience.

Even if the build experience might not be as great, the result looks 100x better than the speed champions one and even the supposed scale Senna f1 car from Lego.

At this scale I would've hoped for a better representation of the large cannons over the engine cover, although I suppose it might be the high downforce version of the car but I doubt it.

Working as intended, but thanks for the note! Non-LEGO videos severely damage the channel when sent to viewers' subscription feeds as they cause many people to downvote, disable notifications, or unsubscribe instantly, which tells the KZbin algorithm that I make videos that people don't want to see, and the entire channel suffers even more. This avoids most of that. (Even though yes, I've done non-LEGO videos occasionally on this channel for over 10 years.)

It's "33 Max Verstappen" by Carte Blanq & Maxx Power, 2022 which I faded into the tune it's inspired by & based on which is "Watch Out" by Alex Gaudino feat. Shena, 2007, which in turn covers the main melody phrase from "Papa's Got a Brand New Pigbag" by Pigbag, 1981.
