my simple rules for 2P catan: both players play 2 colors simultaneously the best that they can, and their two colors cannot trade with each other. seemed to work well

We love many versions of 1V1 The kind we like most is where both players play simultaneously. You still take turns rolling but you go through the turn phases simultaneously, when every there is a conflict then whoever rolled has priority. There is never dead time, no neutral players. It is wonderful

I play normal rules while 2 players game. The only differences is 1. no trading between players, 2. we play till 15 points reached, 3(optional) we start having three villages instead of two. Go on and try

How do you pick the exact starting positions for the neutral players? Where do the numbers start in relation to the neutral players? If the numbers always start in the same spot, then the neutral players will always (or often) block the same numbers.

Thanks for the nice simple explanation of 2 player rules.My SO and I play 2 player all the time but with no alteration of the base rules and unlike others dont think its "broken" on 2 player,just sometimes very 1 sided,oh well,the next game will be better!I look forward to trying the 2 player adjustments.Thanks for taking the time to make this video!

i dont get WHEN can i play the trade tokens? can i remove the robber before throwing dices? i also dont get if i build a settlement, do i MUST to build also a settlement (if there is a possible place for it) or can i build a third road for example? also this extension makes the robber pointless, since its so easy to be removed :/ even the knigh cards are pointless too besides the 2 points

Sorry I missed this question. Here's how the comm.chips work: For every settlement placed near the desert, a player receives two chips (this also works in the establishment phase). For every settlement placed on the coast, a player receives one chip (this also works in the establishment phase). Also, the player can earn two chips for disbanding a soldier. When the player chooses to disband a soldier, he discards one soldier card previously played. The soldier can be disbanded from the reserve at any time on player's turn, and the player can discard as many soldiers on his turn as he/she. The biggest army should then be recounted. If the player has less than three soldiers, he loses the biggest army card.

I actually think 2 player is a lot of fun. We never play more than 3 because 1 of 4 players will be so handicapped with 4 they can never build anything. We also play to 12 if we play 2 players

I have Star Trek Catan and I am looking for the best 2 player rules for this game. I think that tokens would not be necessary because of the Uhura card, but should the players play the dice twice in a row also in Star Trek Catan? Thanks for your video.

Superb and very easy to understand. Can you clarify whether the 7 rule of applies in the 2 player version i.e when a player rolls a 7 and if either player has more than 7 cards, do they have to put back half of their cards into the bank ?

I know, Im a year late on this. But I was just wondering... when you roll the second time, and you cannot have the same number value, because the ghost player does not collect twice..... what happens to their original bit of resource that they get? DO they not use those resources?
