Unofficial TBOI Trinket guide. No. 005 Purple Heart "Challenge up" Effect: Doubles the chance for champion enemies to appear, including champion bosses. I mean, it’s kinda helpful in normal mode. Normal mode champion enemies always drop their pickup when defeated. In hard mode, it’s not worth it at all since the drop rate for champions is reduced. You’re fighting harder enemies for maybe 1 more key, with the risk of taking a lot more damage if you make mistakes. Rarely is this Trinket helpful, you might as well never pick it up.

Champions are not that imposible to fight, and those extra pick uos can be helpfull in early floors

they're not THAT much harder to deal with, so the slight bit of extra income isn't awful. still isn't great though

Runs can depend on an extra key or bomb, the higher difficulty is worth the tradeoff in my eyes but I get your viewpoint. Depends how conservative a player someone is. Me though, absolutely reckless everyrun.

Magic Mushroom's Item Label: "All Stats Up" What it actually does: "most very valuable stats up" Stats it doesn't increase: - Tears - Shot speed - Luck - Final Fire rate Adjustment - Tear height - Tear falling speed - Planterium / Devil / Angel room chance - Final Knockback Adjustment - Final Tier Mass Adjustment I love these guides though, super happy Nicalis is officially covering all the items in order! I'd much rather they're released over time so that I can be pleasantly surprised every now and then, I've pretty much bookmarked this playlist, so it's good they're not releasing it all at once

*Magic Mushroom facts & trivia:* (Magic Mushroom is quality 4 and appears in the Treasure Room and Ultra secret pools) -The x1.5 damage multiplier does not stack with the x1.5 damage multiplier from Cricket's Head, from the combination of The Book of Belial and Blood of the Martyr, or itself. However, it will stack with any other multipliers, such as Sacred Heart. -Magic Mushroom, along with 1up!, Mega Mush, Mini Mush and Super Bandage, is one of the few items that make a unique sound upon pickup. -This item's sprite resembles the mushroom species Amanita muscaria, fly agaric. The name Magic Mushroom is also a reference to a colloquial term for hallucinogenic mushrooms, but Fly agaric is not one of them, since it does not contain psilocybin. -This item is a reference to the Kirby series, where there is a similar looking mushroom enemy called Cappy. What, the Decap Attack? *Active item, four room charge* Throws Isaac's head while allowing to shoot from the spot it lands, blocking enemy shots as well as dealing contact damage to nearby enemies. Meanwhile, Isaac's body can no longer shoot tears. The head does 24 damage on impact and 4 damage per tick (12 damage per second) on contact when it's on the ground. The head, once detached and thrown, is invulnerable to damage. However, the body remains vulnerable. The head can return by picking it up with the body, or by using the item again without requiring charges. Both the throwing and retaking of the head can deal damage to enemies passing through.
