I would trade out the full size fridge for a smaller apartment fridge. Especially since it's just for one person. You would get more light from your window the larger fridge is blocking. Also, the slimmer fridge would allow for more space in your future office area. Hang a mirror of simplistic piece of art behind the couch to hide the A/C cord for a less "diy" look. Everything else is so sleek, the cord takes away from that. I love your color scheme and how everything flows to the next area. Awesome job!
@teresacarle2944 жыл бұрын
🗳Personally, I vote for the supersize refrigerator. In burning hot locations like Texas, I would sacrifice some of the view🌱, light☀️ & excess heat🌡 for interior comfort & energy efficiency. (Although I might've added clerestory windows @ loft level for passive light & ventilation.) 🎲🎲Bet the high temps are primarily why most of his windows are shuttered. Plus, single or not, I love to 🍳cook. Also 🍎bulk buy🥕. Would keep that big beauty packed with food & ice cold beverages. ~~~~~~~~ 🖼Great idea for art to eventually be mounted above couch to conceal the a/c | heater cord🔌. 📏Something to match the same size & scale of the unit (or the build-out suggestion mentioned below⬇️). Ideally, it will look more finished with an artfully balanced configuration. ⬜ Maybe consider constructing a simple box frame (in white to match) resting over the unit w/a metal vented grid screen on a hinge (or plantation shutter type doors you could swing open) for ventilation or adjusting the controls. This is so your guests or future Airbnbers don't have to look @ the ugly electronic eyesore🤤. With a screen, you could always construct it so it is removeable to adjust temps too. Done right, it would not hurt air flow🌬. If interested look up DIY radiator &/or A/C covers for clever inspiration. Plus, you could also make the frame slightly larger for the unit. Create open cubby shelfs on the sides for more tiny elephants🐘 or other objets d'art. ~~~~~~~~ 💝Love pocket doors in petite spaces that slip into a cavity, but not sliding or barn doors🐄 as much. The latter looks handsome, but takes up too much valuable wall real estate. (Seen ppl cleverly put bi-fold closet doors in bed & bath entrances for privacy w/o unduly encroaching on either floor footprint or wall space too.) Of course, I love walls curated with lovely art. I always appreciate extra display space😉. 🎨Speaking of art, his photograpy instantly caught my attention. Beautiful. Harley's frame & matte was also an excellent choice that truly enhances the photos. 👏

I agree completely I think they did amazing job on this tiny home !!! But for one Individual that refrigerator is just too much and as you can see he’s not using a whole lot of space in the refrigerator so he definitely could downsize and make his kitchen area feel a lot bigger!!!! Plus there’s so many different options when it comes to refrigerators they got many different sizes...Other than that I love his home !!!!!

Harley, Your place is gorgeous! I want a tiny house too, but with 3 dogs and a husband I probably need a bigger model but not too much bigger. You didn't mention where you got your washer/dryer or your air/heat. We live in SanAngelo and I haven't seen any here. I'm 70 and I want to downsize, but still like a little luxury like you have. Thanks for sharing!
@harleyeldridge10344 жыл бұрын
Definitely go with a bigger model! They have them! I’ve seen two level sheds that can be added to from Home Depot and other places! The washer/dryer is from Lowe’s but I wouldn’t recommend a combo unit. It actually doesn’t work as well as others. I would have gone with a stackable. The air and heat unit is also from Lowe’s or Home Depot. That one I’m not positive on but the brand is LG.

@@harleyeldridge1034 🔔Thank you for the tour & project cost💲. ~~~~~~~~~~ 💖Excellent finishes & floor plan (w/the double lofts). Soothing & charming color palette. 💖Loved all the painted & stained planked accent areas. They added a lovely high-end cosy texture to the entire space. 💖Adorable 🍽 kitchen. Like your rustic 🦈fish art!💀Love how you artfully "dressed" your counters! Who says pratical storage containers need to be boring or dull!? Dig the full size appliances, & the vent hood hack above the window. 💖Also your clever🗑trashcan, utility & pantry shelf. TeeHee🚽. That was a brilliant upcycle & use of vertical space! Pantry storage is always desired as well as a spot to stow a broom & dust pan. All that necessary clutter is carefully hidden out of sight & mind too. 💖Love your charming open shelving styled with dishes & glassware. Don't be quick to off-load extra dishware. You might wanna entertain outdoors one day! 💖Also highly approve of the white cubby cabinet you added in front of that end kitchen cabinet. It almost creates a sense of having an entry zone too. 😉Pleasing visual interest with your items displayed below when sitting in L/R area too. 🤔Plus, the top ledge or landing of it could be temporarily commandeered for extra kitchen space when ever you need it. 👍Overall, you squeezed a lot of value in this small space. 🏆You did a great job w/decorating it too. 💖Loved your 🐘elephants -- appreciate even a small collection of items that spark joy. Also like added drama with that gorgeous floor mirror in bedroom. It really helps to expand the space. 🔹️Stunning blue side chair. Smart furniture & rug choices through-out too. Nice mix of whimsy, rustic & mod. ~~~~~~~~~~ 🚪French doors as well as glass entry front doors are lovely, but not always great for privacy or sun protection. For extra ambient light & ventilation, I think high clerestory windows on the east or south side of structure is best. 🌅Cool to have views, but living in a 🐟fishbowl is not grand. Sometimes you also need privacy to 👀 peek to see whose come to visit while you're still in your pjs. In sunny 🌞SoCal, too much glass or windows can also be recipe to 🌡cook🔥 inside. 💲Or, waste money in cooling costs. 😁Like you, I also need a room fan in bedroom in summer for added air circulation. The place is so petite, I would've skipped the exterior doors in bedroom altogether. 🖼That's simply a personal choice bcos I always need more wall space for art, display & storage in any room🤗. 😨Besides, in LA doors propped open for ventilation (w/o screens) will invite a band of unwanted little 🐁critters🦎|🐍, not to mention darn skeeters 😲. 🌻Hope you have many happy years in your new home🏡!!!
