Pat and Jimmy Greaves were my two heroes as an embryonic Spurs fan. He had hands like shovels - would rarely punch a ball, rather come out and catch it one-handed. Great to see that he is doing well, a gentle man in every sense.

Would probably never have gone to that lot down the road were it not for the disgusting behaviour of our at the time board of directors. Pat, turned up at the ground to say goodbye to the players as it looked like he was going to Ipswich the directors all trooped out to board a coach and completely ignored Pat !!! Pat, was aware the Goons wanted him and as it made little difference in terms of daily travelling he went to the Goons, i personally hope all those directors had a horrible rest of their lives. One man you do not insult is Pat ! GOAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for this conversation that shows life is far more important than sport. The list of nice things to say about Pat can go on and on. He was so encouraging to the goalkeeper who was playing for me when we visited chigwell training ground years ago. His THIS IS YOUR LIFE from the 80s episode in well worth a watch. The grace he left Tottenham in when being dumped was really commendable. Enough to join Rivals Arsenal which shows the Irish humour in him.

Brilliant man. Brilliant legacy. Possibly the best goalkeeper ever. My step Dad loved Pat. We all went to his testamonial at Spurs, and my folks went to the celebration of Pat at, if I remember correctly, the Chanticlier (spelling), which was I think in Paxton Road. He also had a personally signed reprint of a painting of Pat celebrating the event proudly displayed on the wall at home. He was gutted when he left for Arsenal but he never lost an ounce of respect for him. I never saw Pat play for Spurs competitively except when he was at Arsenal as the season I first started going regularly Barry Daines was playing most of the games (Mark Kendall was his under study) was the year we were in the old second division for a season. Entrance fee for an 11 year old back then was a massive 80p. Really enjoyable video guys. Thanks for brightening my evening. Love you Pat.

I went to watch Spurs throughout the 60s and big Pat was a huge hero to me. He had the misfortune to be Irish bc if he'd been English he'd surely have been England's keeper at the 66 World Cup. Best keeper these islands have ever seen. Once met him at WHL and was so star-struck I was speechless!

I've supported Spurs since we beat Chelsea in the fa cup final in 1967. And I started going to see them at the lane in the early 70s. I have been lucky enough to see them become winners twice in72 and 84 and win the league cup against Norwich. I'm still hoping we can win a final with our p resent team and see Sonny hold the trophy with pride and joy.Coys.

Frank Saul and Jimmy Robertson were the 2 scorers in our 2- 1 win against Chelsea in that 67 Cup final. I remember it so well. I watched on a black and white tv and thought. I like this team in white. I was 9, and dad was taking me to watch Charlton every week, but I became a Spurs fan during that game.

I remember many years ago the great Liverpool manager Bill Shankly, said he preferred his own goalie at Liverpool, a short fat bloke called Tommy Lawrence, he said Mr Jennings was easy to lobb, because he came to far from his goal line, this was just before Spurs played Liverpool at white hart lane. Well, Mr Jennings played a great game as usual, and Mr Greaves Lobbed Tommy Lawrence to score a goal. Back then of course not all games were televised, nor even highlights later that night, i would love to have seen the look on Bill Shankly's face when Mr Greaves scored that goal.

A Legend and a Gentleman in the truest sense. Living in Ireland, the opportunities to see my hero live were limited, but I did see him a few times in the early 70s at WHL and at Old Trafford. I also went to see him in the famous "All Ireland 11" match against Brazil in Lansdowne Road, Dublin in 1973 which he mentioned in this interview. Coincidentally they actually played as the Dublin club, Shamrock Rovers, the same name as the street league team in Newry which he mentioned at the beginning of the interview. I look forward to seeing the new statue to Big Pat in Newry next time I'm there.

What a great goalkeeper!!. I have followed Spurs since 1970-71 season. He was my favourite player. During that time, Spurs won 2 league cups and a UEFA Cup. They finished in the top six of the First Division a number of times, and Pat won both Footballer of The Year Awards with The Football Writers and Player's Player of The Year. At school, I had to argue against people who said that Pat kept Spurs in the First Division. I used to say " what about Chivers, Peters, Perryman, Gilzean, England, Knowles...?". Then in 1976-77 season, Pat missed many games through injury. What happens? Spurs are relegated!! So, his importance to the team was very clear. However, Spurs decided his time at the club was over. He was transferred to Arsenal, and achieved more success with them. A great player and servant to the club for 13 seasons!
