It was huge when it came out and a movie that people still talk about when it´s been almost 25 years since it premiered, I wouldn´t agree that´s an underrated movie. It´s still pulls people in due to being a great movie with subjects that are still very much still in our societies.

I remember being like 7 years old and being devastated by this movie. At the time I didn’t know anyone w/ a terminal illness, but later in life, I feel this movie prepared me for those tough losses and it’s something I come back to every few years. If you or anyone you know is fighting a serious disease, know you’re loved by many and try to remain strong and happy, if not hopeful. Life is hard but each day is a blessing, regardless of how tough it is.

I loved that she was honest with him and that he was able to take it in and share his thoughts on it, how he felt it wasn´t good enough to have their dream dates because he wanted her just the way he had her at the moment. Those children really carried so much of the scenes with Susan Sarandon and it was very impressive to see how they held up their part of the scene and made it work. Sometimes the child actors are trying, but the adult in the scene is doing the heavy lifting to make the scene take off. It was beautiful to see how they both held their own when they acted against those three major actors (Roberts, Sarandon and Harris). Felt the same when Dakota Fanning played against Denzel Washington and their characters said goodbye on the bridge and she finally let go of him and ran back to her moma after being kidnapped and he had traded his own life so she could be free.

Biggest mystery is why would a beautiful successful young woman like Isabel date a mediocre looking middle aged bald guy with 2 kids
@frmdatune2dapark7122 жыл бұрын
Maybe because Isabel loved the idea of a family man? Just because she’s successful and beautiful doesn’t mean she was a evil woman or user. She genuinely loved and might of not had a loving family growing up or a father figure . I noticed lots of younger women date older women if they didn’t have their fathers in their life. But love has no age limit so

Re comment from my old Grigor B. 2.0 channel (which sadly got terminated) 0:06 Noticed that this trailer has the 1993-2015 TriStar logo instead of the 1993-2007 version of the current Columbia Pictures logo. My guess is that the film was originally intended to be released by TriStar but because Sony merged the two together following the movie’s release, it moved to Columbia Pictures instead of TriStar.
@julianvillarreal1450 Жыл бұрын
It’s very interesting. If this would’ve been released by TriStar back then, it would’ve been their only movie together with 1492 Pictures since they are mentioned in the credits, but because the movie moved to Columbia, it ended up being their first movie to use the 1998-2012 alternate version 2 fanfare.

Ok the movie is wholesome. But only one thing is weighing on my mind toward the ending. Islam is fair and kind. It allows the husband to have up to four wives. But ofcoz with every wife consent and only if he could afford to be fair with every one of them, emotionally and physically. I would be devastated to be the ex wife. It would hurt to share. I personally dont want that. But it would be nice to have an option to share than to be discarded.
