I did this winter forecast is just perfect for me to do my huge igloo buildings that I always love to do every winter here in southern Ontario Canada, I always try to beat my record for building the biggest one every year and with it favouring high chance of above average snow I am able to do it now and can really enjoy what I created and the winter season as well. 👍

It has been very cold, and below average in temperatures in Bar Harbor, Maine so far. Temps of 25 degrees on the coast of Maine in November is rather rare.

El Nino years my area in Maryland didn't get any snow. Now with La Nina it's the same. When will Baltimore get snow again. I'm sick of rain.
@weatherataglance60752 ай бұрын
You have the potential to see snowfall this year and even one or two winter systems, however, you need cold air to set ahead of the approaching low pressure system in order for actual accumulation to have a chance. For your snowfall accumulation, it has less to do with La Niña and El Niño, but more on other teleconnections such as the PNA, NAO, and AO. What you want to see is some high pressure building ahead of these approaching lows so you have time for colder air to set up and linger before the precipitation arrives.

Yuo meteorologists have no idea what you're talking about. For over half a year now you've been crying "La Nina, La Nina"!" and predicting cooler and wetter weather in the midwest. Instead, we've in near drought conditions and we've been well above normal every month this year so far, except for June. Sept. Oct and Nov have been well above normal.

@@weathermanofthenorth1547 Whatever the meteorologists say, jus reverse it. I have out-predicted them in every predicted snowfall of the last 7 years. Back in 2022, they were predicting a minimum of 8-14" of snow, with 20" in some local areas and blizzard conditions. I predicted, and I quite: "We're not getting a blizzard and we'll be lucky to get 2" of snow". This was 24-48 hrs. before the "snowstorm" was due to hit. People panicked .bought literally tons of salt, snow blowers, canceled travel plans, called off work, etc. I warned them. What did we get? 1.6" of snow. I had said we'd be lucky to get 2" (which implies under 2") and that's what we got. Lock me in at 2" and I was off 0.4". The meteorologists were off between 7 and 18". And we got no blizzard. To make matters worse, the local meteorologists were whining on their live stream about how people aren't taking them seriously, I called them and told them they should stop complaining and learn to predict weather. They're like the boy who cried wolf. And even a broken clock can be right twice a day, as Harry Volkman (one of the worse of all time) predicted the 1967 Chicago blizzard. Another time shortly before that, they predicted 6"+. I said we'd get a dusting. We ended up with 0.10" When meteorologists predict snow, I reply "I'll see it when I believe it".
@Vintage-Bob2 ай бұрын
@@weathermanofthenorth1547 Also, note that they have been dead wrong about the La Nina all year long now. We've had well above normal temps every month since January (except June). And there were plenty of days that were seeing 15, 20, even 30 degrees above normal. They just never get it right, never.
