Really excellent presentation. I was able to learn about the lighting (in zbrush; I never touched many features in zbrush), learned about zbrush animation, and lastly I learned some in-depth pipeline about hair modeling and it was not much different from what I've seen from average modelers. Good stuff.

Man I would love if Frank or hell, ANY pro put out a thorough tutorial on the pipeline for hair like this. Its right now the biggest thorn on my side.

Starting from 25:40, the 3D scan to base mesh implementation is great. I tried the same technique and it made a lot of difference to my game models. 38:35, Sam Drake's development. This part is amazing as well. For me, the only part I didn't get was the shading part (the first one, with Yibing). Too much math for my artistic brain. For skin shader, I'm using "Saurabh Jethani / Creating realistic skin in UE4" for free and that's it XD I'm not a technical artist.

That's no cross feed that look is "the fuck you talking about" 56:56 Did you do the blend shapes in Maya or Max and import to zbrush or did the Artist just use Zbrush to make the blend shape and layers to separate each shape.

I'm late to watching this video but I wonder why for young Nathan compared to Sam, young Nate barely resembles himself, and more the actor that was modeled after? it has always bugged me haha. He was a great actor though! But I wonder why they went for likeness of actor so much.

what are these reusable unified uvs they talk about?
@ketanichiwala8 жыл бұрын
i think it simply means. the base that they begin on has uv's. so when they do a new face off the same base they can use the texture's they already have because even though it's a different character. it come from the same base so has the same uv's.
@architect3338 жыл бұрын
oh so they mean reusable uvs and meshes. I see. thanks for answering.

Yeah, the character faces was very realistic, the destruction model is cool, stitching tool is cool. Folds may be better, I think its because of scans. I think their system highly complicated, but as the result they reached the photorealism partly - ultimate hardcore. As the gameplay - nothing special, just another adveture
