I listened to this on the radio for the whole of the final day, constantly doing the calculations, runs needed by England vs daylight remaining vs runs needed by Australia. At first I thought they had no hope, but as the day went on I dared to believe. That moment, when, finally, daylight failed. Wow! The most exciting draw in history.

Ayush Chaturvedi Siddle has seen a significant reduction in pace since he went vegan and has himself admitted it... Morne Morkle has also lost pace overall. He was a high 140s bowler consistently and has now dropped to a high 130s/ low 140s bowler on average. Sure both could probably hit 150 if they went for it but would not maintain it for 15-20 overs as say a Mitchell Starc or Shoaib Akhtar or Brett lee did. :)

Ayush Chaturvedi Siddle has himself admitted to have lost pace since going vegan which is why he was dropped from the test squad. Why do you feel the need to argue with that?

Well many people disagree with your opinion including myself. As a hindu, I went on a vegetarian diet for a year and saw a 10kmph drop in pace on average and was more injury prone. Going back on a meat diet gave me my strength and pace back. There is a reason most professional athletes are not vegan and why most dietitians are usually unhappy with vegan diets. Vegan diets tend to be less nutrient dense so as a result most vegans end up malnourished, especially those that converted from non-veg diets. Being vegan has shown correlation with muscle loss, bone loss and anaemia. You can be big and strong on any diet imo, look at elephants with their primarily plany based diet. But they also eat 100s of kilos a day. Gram for gram, non-vegan food is more nutritious, especially in protein and B-group vitamins amongst others. The fact the the entire indian team is not Vegan, especially Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron, the quickest bowlers in the team, should be a bitch slap on your claims.

And Ishant Sharma cannot maintain his pace for as long as Yadav or aaron or even Shami for that matter. Sure 4 overs with the odd 140 kps bowl is doable on a vegan diet but over 20 overs in a day good luck. This is what happened to siddle, he started fast but ran out of steam to a point bowling 125 kph by the end of the day. Meat diets have been shown to allow for greater durability and pace over time. Sure Sharma can bowl 135-140 consistently, but he would be 145-150 if he ate meat. Fast bowling is often a result of people having a higher proportion of fast twitch muscle fibres and is a power sport. Meat diets complements such sports with provision of creatine phosphate, Carnitine, b-group vitamins, sheer protein amongst other things. Meat allows for a better overall build and growth as well. Look at indians with an average height of 5'4" vs lets say the average white population at 5'10". Physique is very important in fast bowling. Compare india to their neighbours pakistan for example...
