He didn't lie, she is talented. People may not like her but she has a great voice, she plays the piano, she writes great songs, she knows how to grab attention from the public and the media, and most of all she treats her fans very well.
@StefanDot
@StefanDot 9 жыл бұрын
+hardcandy260495 she has a very normal voice, nothing extraordinary at all. She is not Mariah Carey. Gaga can play the piano like everybody, she is not mozart. She writes great songs? Are you kidding? Very stupid lyrics. I don't think she is very relevant anymore.
@hardcandy260495
@hardcandy260495 9 жыл бұрын
+StefanDot Do you compare every person who plays the piano to Mozart because that's very illogical. Also Mariah and Lady Gaga have completely different voices and Mariah is known for being one of the best vocalist ever. Saying she is no Mariah or Mozart doesn't make her talentless or less good. Have you heard her ballads? Her lyrics are no always basic pop lyrics and even her pop songs like Judas have better lyrics than most mainstream pop songs. Don't be a hater

I was fortunate enough to see Lady Gaga's show in Las Vegas on my 40th birthday last year - and she absolutely killed it. I am a huge fan of Iron Maiden, and Bruce Dickinson in general. I am a metalhead through and through, and having seen Maiden live and now Gaga, I feel quite safe in saying that Lady Gaga is singlehandedly bridging the gap between pop music and heavy metal. Anyone that has been to one of her shows, knows that her show is not a typical pop show. Sure, it has dancing, lights and other pop elements, but the FIRE, the LIGHTS, the ANGER in her voice, the visual visceral elements along with her powerful voice, draws all the parallels to an Iron Maiden show. Madonna? hell no. Bruce is right, she is better than that. She is Lady Gaga, and she has so much more in common with a large metal show than your traditional pop show. Besides, anyone who is truly part of the metal community, knows that the community embraces individualism, identity, and abhors racism, stereotyping, and other stigmatizing components that are rampant in society. Bruce condemns the abhorrent and welcomes the different. Gaga does the same thing at her shows, but then - anyone who knows her, seen her live, or even knows of her; knows that she is different and creates a welcoming culture at her shows. Go ahead, try and refute it. Bruce and Lady Gaga have more in common than mac and cheese. UP THE IRONS

I can't say I'm a fan of Lady Gaga, but it truly took some guts for her to say what she said about Maiden as a pop star...and I believe she meant it. I understand that she did Maiden covers in her early years...she deserves respect just for that. Maiden is one of those bands that you can grow old with and it's really cool to see that someone younger like Lady Gaga gives respect...because you just KNOW that she liked them during a period of time when metal wasn't "cool." \m/

A freaking idiot can see he is being more than just polite here. He didn't need to say that Gaga is better than Madonna, but he did, and he also didn't need to compliment her artistry in any way. If he were just polite, he would have said that he appreciates what she said and he likes her as a person, that is it. Still, he chose to compliment her as a musician and a performer. That is something. Also, she has the right to be a fan of Iron Maiden and make pop music. Anyone who knows her a little bit can see the metal references in what she does a mile away. As weird as it might sound, Lady Gaga is VERY metal.

I didn´t see this way. He said that "she´s better than that", and I see it like "she´s better than next anyone", she´s good enough to not be filling somebody´s place, ´cause there´s no such thing. Madonna, to me, is awesome, even not singing half as Gaga does, and Gaga is amazing, a great artist, and those comparisons are repeating over and over. He said it well
@michaelangeloh.5383

I don't agree; She makes pop garbage while having a classical background. That makes her a literal sellout. - And have you seen her turn MetallicA into a cringefest?... They allowed it, but she thinks Rock and Metal is dancing like a stripper for females. That would be Rock 'n' Roll, but that also made it embarrassing and degenerating. - I don't appreciate her "contribution" to Metal, she needs to stay out and do her pop crap if she so desires to waste her actual talent that would basically blow Maiden away. But she decides to be an awkward fangirl, not Metal.
@lorenagagamonster
@lorenagagamonster 6 жыл бұрын
@@michaelangeloh.5383 Just because you don't like her interpretation of what it means to be 'metal', doesn't mean she's wrong in having it, and it doesn't make it any less genuine. Gaga is unique in everything she does, including the few times she dabbles into the actual style of metal. If you expected her to embody the 'tradicional' behavior and ways of it you were either stupid or knew nothing about her. Also, if you call what she did/does 'pop garbage', you either know very little about her or nothing about pop, maybe both. You might not like her work, you have every right to. Taste is subjective, she herself has said it many times, no one has to enjoy her or what she does. People are free. But her work IS rich in meaning, references, expression and musical mastery, within her genre (pop, dance, electro and others); any objetive viewer knows it has merit, both in itself and as a cultural phenomena. Besides, can you really call a super pop star who CHOSE to spend over a year of her life investing on something so out of the pop genre like Jazz a sell out? I don't think so. She could've made millions with another pop album, but she chose to make much, much less singing Jazz with Tony Bennett because she wanted to, because she loves music. Gaga has proven again and again that she will do whatever she wants, when she wants to, and her reasons rarely, if ever, relate to money. But they always relate to art and the things she wants to see put out in the world.

What I do notice is a pattern of legendary metal musicians like Judas Priest, Kiss, Queen, Ozzy and now Iron Maiden praising Gaga for her "theater" quality which is a very important part of metal. Gaga has great showmanship and they appreciate that in her. Just because she writes and sings top 40 pop songs doesn't mean she can't be a great artist. Doesn't he understand those older fans have been with them and supported them for over 30 years? They wouldn't be where they are now without that kind of support. Hearing that comment was like a slap to the face.

from a metal head, GaGa is amazing. The only reason she's so disliked is because of her attention grabbing stunts. Simply as a musician, she is everything Bruce described.

Is it why I love him so much 🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜 he is so intelligent and sees when someone is all that !! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 I don’t like pop music... but I share the same opinion as he, first because she’s a great singer (a real one) , she has a great sense of drama for sure , she is really a musician, great with the instruments , and a writer... Really... She rocks!!! 🤘🏻 And is very admirable that she didn’t mention Metallica instead Iron maiden 😃👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and is that why I like her so much as well 😍😍👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 hehehe She has a metal roots for sure 😃😃🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻😝😝😝😝

Most Rock N' Roll fans and Metalheads tend to bash the hell out of modern popular artists blindly. While I do agree there's some shameful, horrible and poorly written music out there whose only point is to be catchy, there's also some great artist out there and Miss Gaga is one, let's ignore her "I'm the next Iron Maiden" quote, pretty sure she didn't meant it like "Yeah, I'm surpassing this guys" or that she was going to be their equal, for me it seems like her way of saying that he looks up to them as artists and that they have inspired her a lot. She is very passionate about music, she is good songwriter, great singer and an amazing performer who genuinely seems to love her fans and tries to connect with them (that alone is a reason to respect an artist) and overall seems like a nice lady that keeps her feet on the ground and doesn't tries to sell her fans that she is a Goddess like some do.

Makes me respect Bruce even more. He was obviously flattered by the compliment. And he isn't afraid to speak the truth. She certainly is more than just a pop sensation. She's a genuine talent. And she's not afraid to speak the truth, despite how her Hollywood friends might react. Mutual respect between two genuine artists is a beautiful thing

I dont think any group/artist is ever going to be able to build a fanbase the way Iron Maiden and a handfull of others did, Rush, Grateful Dead to name a few. Immediacy, mediocrity and redundancy inserted by everything that exists being available instantly is a factor. She will need some career topping and industry changing ideas to begin to think she will obtain that large of, and stable base. I dont think it could happen ever. But she has the correct aspirations definitely, i hope she does it. She has to be on radio and video to exist, the aforementioned don't utilize or get utilized by radio or video at all in their later years, and sparingly in their prime period.

I was watching a Lady Gaga - Howard Stern interview, where she also mentioned Judas Priest. I used to be a Priest fan in my mid teens, but I lost interest in them by age 20, although I still like Iron Maiden and other metal bands. But I'm a bit shocked that Lady Gaga likes metal. She is about the last person I thought would be a metal fan.

I don't see her as the next Iron Maiden, I see her as the next Cyndi Lauper, because although she's a pop star, there's a dignity there and a strangeness at the same time. I have no problems with her, and she seems like the kind of chick that would be fun to hang out with.
