I have been watching Graham Norton all night, and I have never laughed so much at a talked show host! He has such an incredible show with all the entertainers he has had on! I just love watching him especially the video clip with Harrison Ford and Jack Whitehall.

A part of Graham Norton's magic is that he has been a stand-up comedian and an actor himself. He's actually funny in his own right and quick-witted. But he understands - unlike 99% of talk show hosts - that he's not the star of the show. So he uses his wit and comedy not to outshine anyone, but to set them up. Make the joke funnier. Get them laughing (and drunk) to drop their guard.

In the popular TV series Gunsmoke (1952-61), there was a character named Chester. Chester had a very noticeable limp. One week Dennis Weaver forgot to limp, for the entire episode! No one caught it, and it went undetected until after the episode aired. Then the production company was inundated with letters, many thanking the Lord for Chester’s recovery.
