Sir Tom Jones is such a tremendous artist. We love him very much. Elvis is the king. Without a doubt. As BB King said, "He had it all..." I do know all the songs he did from 1954 -1977...even though we live in Turkey Istanbul and are not of that particular generation Elvis is just pure timeless gold.

Tom Jones& Shirley Bassy what an awesome pair. Tom’s voice even in his 80’s is even better now as it has a depth to it. He is the only singer that sounds so fantastic now as he has ever done. Even the great Neil Diamond has lost his voice and so have all the other greats men and women but not Sir Tom Jones.🎉

They performed at different hotels and on nights when Elvis wasn't performing, just for fun, he’d sometimes come strolling across the stage in the background when Jones-who’d be going, “Damn, I’m really killing the audience tonight!”-was mid-song. Effing hilarious and the closest they got to doing a concert together.

Tom wanted Elvis as a guest on his TV series This is Tom Jones ( 1969-71) but I'm guessing Col. Tom Parker, Elvis' Manager wouldn't allow it. Shame, that would have been amazing.

@@maypresley I agree. That's the one black mark against him. I was shocked when I first discovered a few years ago that he has son that he chooses to have nothing to do with despite his son's efforts to reach out to him. Basically according to Tom, it wasn't part of the plan when he had an extra-marital affair that resulted in a child. Such a shame. I do not deny Tom Jones's talents, charm, charisma and story telling ability but I feel this is one part of his past that many fans choose to overlook. Basically if you plant your seed, whether it be planned or not, step up and be a man and father unless you don't care of the psychological impact.
