He is a treasure! I’m American, just a little younger than those who listened to him in the 60s, but I love his songs, mostly the way he sings them. Hearing him burst into song on the voice, no rehearsal, just sing, he is the inspiration for those around him. Ollie Murs, Jennifer, and Will all seem mesmerized when Tom sings! I love it! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Tom started singing in an era when sound systems are not as they are now and you had to rely on the power of your voice and proper breathing techniques. Notice how far from his mouth the microphone is compared to the person he is singing with. If the sound went out you would still be able to hear him because he could project his voice.

My late father was a local policeman in the Rhondda and in 1958 a young lad called Thomas Woodward for being a bit the worse for drink one night. He always had a wry smile when he said that as it really was one of his claims to fame. For me Tom Jones will always be an amazing product of Wales with a superb rich voice that cannot be equalled. Every person who is a contestant or a judge, when Tom sings, just listen and learn, he is truly the master.

Wow, but the one thing I loved how Tom sang were those facial gestures he made towards the other singers in the duet. He exudes just pure love and joy, you can truly feel it.

One of the best of all time Elvis’s very close friend who he truly admired and loved and was so proud to call on stage with him when they played in law Las Vegas at the same time! I am still amazed that at 80 years old he belts them out like he did in the 60s !
