Well Julius Peppers could have avoided ALL this controversy if he would have JUST SPIKED the football into the ground 39.6 times. I FIRMLY BELIEVE that.

Those were great times to be Panthers fan at the time. Imagine in an alternate universe had they took Joey Harrington over Julius Peppers in 2002 or hired a different coach besides Fox, for sure they would had made a super bowl.

As a Panthers fan from right outside of Charlotte born and raised, we all love Peppers and like you explained at the beginning about him being top 3 in Carolina and all that, the fans STILL called him "The Tin Man" because he didnt have a heart I remember it vividly It was what helped push him out of Carolina and out of the DE so he could be a LBer and "get his hand out of the dirt" in 2009

Fun Fact (which I may have mentioned here before): That game was in the middle of a 17-game stretch in which the Panthers were 0-11 in outdoor stadiums and 6-0 in domes/retractable roof stadiums.

This unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about the game in which Michael Strahan set the sack record.

Sometimes it takes a white lie to motivate a person to do something like John fox did to Julius peppers -even though it wasn’t true and the coach knew it! Maybe there should be a moral to the story- but there isn’t! Pity! 😮😮😮😅😅

I wonder if Fox got the year wrong, and Strahan actually did have a season where he had 0 sacks after 5 games, just not 2007
@OfficialJaguarGator98 ай бұрын
Nah it couldn't be that, because the whole point was that Strahan broke the record that same season. Every year that Fox was there, Strahan had at least 2.5 sacks after the first 5 games

Thanks for clarifying, I wasn’t sure. I appreciate all the research you do for these videos.

For future reference, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila's last name is pronounced BAH-juh bee-uh-MIL-uh. As for Fox, telling Peppers that lie in 2007, where stuff could be fact-checked much more easily than they could be 15 years prior, is wild. Motivating players is key, but at least have some truth in there somewhere.
