@@paulevereklian they did. And they were lucky Emmitt got hurt in that game, because the Cowboys were on the verge of running away with that one. This game, the Cowboys executed offensively but shot themselves in the foot too many times. For example, not converting the early possession inside the 5 into points, and the Jason Tucker fumble through the back of the end zone in the 4th quarter

@@briandonegan8480 you’re kidding right? This was so overly nitpicky on JG9s part. How is kicking a field goal with 8 seconds left and no timeouts using the only kicker who was capable of making the kick considered a dumb decision? You can dislike Gailey as a coach all you want, but I have no issue with him doing this here

Chan is another one of those medicore NFL head coaches. Also coached Georgia Tech in the 2000s when Calvin Johnson, Tashard Choice and Roman Reigns were on that team. Because they did not have consistent qb play they didn't win an ACC title.

Back then you were a someone if you could hit a 50 plus yard field goal even more than a few times especially a 57 yard one. It just goes to show how things have change today especially when it comes to training over the last 30 years. Now you are seeing kickers kick 60 yard field goals like it was nothing.

I thought this dumb decision was gowin to be worse than it really was. Oh no, he didnt run an extra play to the sideline to get 3-4 more yards, even though Gowin was still the only kicker who could make it from that distance. Give me a break, JaguarGator is milking content in front of your own eyes, I wish some of the others would open theirs up instead of just blindly praising him

Of course, this Dumb Decisions episode does not exist if the Giants had beaten the Cowboys in the last game of the season. If they did, then the Packers would have gotten in over the Panthers on the infamous "We Need More Points" battle. As I remember all too well, you referenced this famous NFL Primetime highlight in your video about the 1979 Bears making the playoffs on point differential.

I wonder there's ever been a situation where a head coach called a play that cost his team the game and actually defended it even though everybody else thought that it was a stupid play. And by everybody, I mean his assistants, his players, the announcers calling the game for various media, the people in the press box, the fans in the stadium, and pretty much anyone watching the game on television. Oh, and the coach not only defended the play and blasted anyone who had the audacity to criticize his decision, but still defended the call when he was asked about it weeks later after he had lost his job immediately after the game because of said play.

@@KyleCaughlin emmitt actually made it 17-0 on the play that hurt his hand when it collided with a Vikings defender’s helmet. Aikman was also hurt in the 2nd half when they were up 17-10, so Garrett had to come in the game. It was all downhill from there

Gowin wasn't even a kicker in college. They would have had a better chance of scoring on a Hail Mary. I'm sure he kicked it that far in practice and could theoretically make one from 57 yards, but it's not that easy in a real game.

There's quite a few of them actually, although most of them doubled (Don Chandler). Craig Hentrich I think has the most for a strict punter with eight. Mitch Wishnowsky kicked one against the Cardinals this past season.
