The part that hit me the hardest was when Jericho narrated Colt's death certificate and read off his profession, "professional wrestler". You could tell by his tone that Jericho was really shook by reading that line. It's hard as a wrestling fan to not be shaken by that. Even a guy who was one of the 98% that never really made it, still took pride in being part of the business even at the bitter end.

I must have been one of the few people to see The Chris Colt Experience on the Superstars of Wrestling. It aired on Channel 12, CFCF-TV for many years, and Luis Martinez put Colt over when Chris used a studded glove to KO him. He came out of the locker room to the Alice Cooper song (I think), all covered in makeup and waving the boa. And he was this skinny runt--Martinez was in his 60s and looked more fit. He did one more match against a job guy not long after and was gone. I also remember before this, that Colt had wrestled Johnny War Eagle in a 3 out of 5 falls match in Burlington, VT (right up the road from my hometown, Cambridge). We didn't go to it, but War Eagle and Colt did dueling promos about that match and how Colt got his ass kicked. It ended with Colt spitting in War Eagle's face and he took off. That would have been the Gran Prix promotion--so I'd seen Colt but did not see him wrestling until he turned up on Channel 12. I also remember reading about Colt and Ron Dupree's run in Arizona and read a Wrestling Revue interview with Colt about what happened to him in England. His quote was, "The bars close in England at 11, and I don't go out until 11--very conservative country." Thank you Jim for bringing back some memories. I knew Colt was pretty wild, but I didn't know about a lot of his out-of-ring stuff.

My Dad told me a story a few weeks ago about him seeing Chris Colt back in the 70s in Johnson City TN. He had come over to watch WrestleMania with me and we started talking about Dark Side of the Ring at some point. He went to a show with friends and Colt was in a tag team match and during the match they threw one of their opponents into a wooden chair. One of the legs broke off a pierced the wrestler in his leg severing an artery. Colt & the other guy backed off once they saw it and at some point they pulled the wood out and he said he'd never forget seeing the gusher of blood spilling out of that guys leg. Ended up having it amputated. He was also a Kingsport police office if I remember right on his day job.

Oh man this episode was a classic. The professor in the gimp mask was definately the highlight lol, this dude was like "Hulk Hogan was a gay icon", what now?? As a gay man myself and lifelong wrestling fan I'm gonna speak for my brothers here when I say Hulk Hogan was absolutely not a gay icon. He was our all american hero and a real life superhero, but if anybody was envisioning him as a dude magnet, it was a very small minority lol. That professor guy is an episode in the making, "I'm a college professor and author and director of jerk off vids" lol that's some resume, but alleging that Hogan was the fucking Judy Garland of the squared circle was way off the mark lol. Great episode though, Chris Colt was a fucking lunatic with a never a dull moment, exactly what a wrestling legend should be lol, I doubt in another 30 years they will be doing an episode on the Young Bucks and their all night debauched xbox playing marathons or social media live streams lol RIP Chris Colt

Looking forward to hearing Jim & Brian's comments on the quickly-booked WWE Raw battle-royal for The Women's World Championship (after Liv Morgan injured Champ Rhea Ripley). Becky Lynch winning. Chelsea Green having to be eliminated TWICE to be gone (and the crowd getting behind her).

I am just glad that Becky won it. To me, there was no other good option. Becky was the correct choice and the only choice. If somebody else had won it, I would have stopped watching WWE completely. I am hoping to see Rhea vs Becky at Summerslam and Rhea getting her title back.

@@gothard5 Indications also point to another possibility: Liv Morgan previously said to Rhea- "Everything you have will be mine!" Dominik is going to begin an affair with Liv Morgan. Liv will begin to take-over 'The Judgement Day' and become the new Mami. Become heel. With the help of her Judgment Day; Liv will violently cheat to beat Becky for The World Title. (Becky will temporarily leave wwe.) Then eventually; Heel World Champion Liv Morgan will be confronted by returning Rhea Ripley (tuned babyface). Babyface Charlotte Flair will return too. Two former queens having lost all their power. Protected by 'The Judgement Day'; Evil Queen Champion Liv Morgan will have all the power.

Thats interesting that the gay community likes wrestling, the body building community had the same "issue", its why the "moon pose" popularized but Tom Platz was banned. Also if wrestling is seen as soft core porn by the gay community then i wonder why that sketchy japanese promoter was looking for females 13-30 for his Marigold promotion🤔🤔🤔

@@MoxyOh when you're used to the sexuality being played up and in your face ie bra and panties matches, the fact that someone would consider basic pro wrestling erotic is interesting to me, amatuer wrestling? definitely. Professional wrestling? Not so much imo. It's like how nobody saw all the nickelodeon feet scenes as weird until they found out Dan Schneider had a foot fetish. 🤷🏿‍♂️ it's one of those, you didn't realize before and now it's interesting.

Jim nobody cares about your podcast you should cann it completely and turn this into "JIM Cornette Reacts". Most of your listeners have spoken and proven that they want their streamer daddy to turn this into a pewdiepie reaction channel wheere you react to weekly AEW and WWE stuff. And you keep asking why people are obsessed with what you think you should look into "reaction channels" and "Validation culture"

I skip the modern stuff too, but I also get it. He puts out hours of content a week, if he just talked about territory days stuff he’d run out of stories faster than you think. Also, theirs wild stuff happening behind the scenes these days, and it helps with context that Jim is forced to be up to date.

This is why I'm so confused at those who dislike him as a co-host. he's got the proverbial voice for radio, has a good rapport with Jim without just sucking up as a yes man, and as you said, his encyclopedic knowledge of the industry is almost unrivaled. Makes me wonder if people prefer the sycophantic podcast co-host who just goes "Hahaha, yeah," every time the star says anything. And if so, WHY do they prefer that?
