What everyone fails to mention is the fact that after Perry was slammed onto the windshield, he had some cuts on his back and a potentially nasty one on his arm. Then the EVPs along with their friends started a whisper campaign that Punk got Cabana fired from AEW which was not true but if you think about it’s messed up that the company EVPs would do that to you and for what reason. Then the altercation with the EVPs happened which even if you agree wouldn’t have happened if Punk didn’t make those statements about the EVPs at the same time as EVPs of a company one would think they would not try and start a fight with their top talent. So fast forward to now based on what I said I can see why Punk now acts so defensive with someone coming at him wether verbally or physically based on everything he has gone through over there. I mean he had his issues while with the WWE but nothing like this which should tell you something.

This confrontation is another reason that proves why the behind-the-scenes drama is much better than the in-ring product, and why Tony Khan is more of a friend rather than being the boss and leader of the company. To frame it that way doesn't make sense, because it suggests that Punk is some wild crazy man who runs around slapping everyone, he's not. He's KNOWN for keeping to himself, many WWE stars have said as much. He can't help that people keep nonstop messing with him.
