The Rocky 3 thing could work if CM Punk became the champ over Moxley and then was the champ for 12-18 months with numerous defenses, mostly squashes or at least easy wins. Along the way a Powerhouse Hobbs monster type stealthily comes up the card undefeated over 12 months crushing everyone. Then he'd beat up Ace Steel and then squash Punk after insulting Punk's wife. Then Punk comes back after a few months and wins through new tactics learned from former adversary Moxley in exchange for a title shot.

Remember that, when Punk left WWE, he rejected the offer from Jericho to appear in his podcast. Jericho himself confirmed this and said that Punk had, apparently, said that he wasn’t interested in giving an interview to anyone who just wanted to massage their ego. Jericho was clearly pissed at this and has never gotten over it. If I were Punk, I’d tell AEW where to shove it. They need him far more than he needs them and, whilst Tony remains at the head of the management of the company, the lunatics (specifically Jericho, Bucks and co) will continue to run the asylum. Punk should walk away and watch the company crumble.

For those who were born in the mid 1990's or early 2000's that have never seen a Rocky movie . Silvester Stallone became a major movie star in 1977 when the first Rocky movie ( Rocky) came out. He played a down trotten boxer who fought every 2 weeks in back ally bars and night clubs and was also a " fixer " for a Mafia numbers guy, and did both things to make money. Apollo Creed ( Carl Weathers) was a character inspired by Muhammad Ali, who was the heavyweight champion of the world in boxing. He was going to defend the title against the #1 contender who got injured during training, Creed decides to fight anyway by giving an unknown boxer a chance to beat him for the title, choosing Rocky , who accepts the fight with the purpose of proving to everyone that he's not a loser. Creed wins by the skin of his teeth and dicides to give Rocky a rematch to prove that he didn't beat Rocky by luck ( Rocky ll ), but ends up losing the title to him. In Rocky lll, Rocky is the multi millionaire world heavyweight champion boxer who's living the good life making money, he buying clothes, and expensive cars. Clubber Lang ( played by Mr. T ) is the hungry young fighter that's knocking everybody out and wants to find that Rocky anytime, and anywhere. If Punk had agreed to work with Moxley, who is going to be Rocky and who's going to be Clubber Lang? Because both Moxley and Punk would've both identified with Clubber Lang, and that's impossible !!!!!!!! With all do respect to him, l think that Moxley got confused with that idea.

I can't help but laugh to myself how similar in a sense the drama I've experienced in my life for the last 2 years or so in another fandom I'm involved in is to all this AEW drama between Punk and the Elite. Watching what happened at the Press Scrum last year and the days that followed made me realize it. It's not a 1:1 the same but thematically it absolutely is if you really look at it. *I'm an amalgamation of Punk and Moxley. Punk mostly in that I'm the one fucked over just trying to do the job at hand, Moxley in that I'm always here to serve the project *The group of girls who has done nothing but stir the shit and are the favorites are the Elite *I personally never had an issue with the Kenny Omega of the group despite knowing what she had done to others until she did that shit to me and tried to pass the buck. Her Young Bucks always said the right things to me publicly and to me directly but say the complete opposite behind closed doors which I found out after the fact. I've barely spoken ever to the Callis and Cutler etc of the group. *The actors we're all serving are Tony Khan because they know it's The Elite but don't say anything because they're the biggest donors. I'm sorry I just have a regular job and can't donate endlessly to their passion project but I've donated a fuck lot for a regular joe. *The indiegogo show they're trying to get made is AEW. *I tried to do the right thing and call out the actions of The Elite directly to Tony Khan behind closed doors when they finally fucked with me directly and it's effectively ostracized me and cost me friendships even with other people The Elite have fucked with previously. My brain when talking about everything to others in the fandom who all know something has been happening but don't know the details is logically Cornette because I saw through all the bullshit but when trying to talk about it is Meltzer 😂

Its oddly true. He was the only one on the mic in that entire generation who couldve stood toe to toe with people like steve austin and the rock. Of course we wont ever know because he had to have a filter. Cause PG era. Even people who were around during the attitude era (jericho) cant even touch punk. Punk was literally at the wrong place wrong time with his career. He wouldve exploded in the attitude era or at the very least the ruthless aggression era

Well, it's not exactly like... like... umm... the thing is that when you have a... if you were to ever do... I mean if it was one of those situations where you were just, just... just one of THOSE guys- I mean I should say people instead of guys, because as you know, or may know, well, some of us know that not all wrestling fans are guys, and that's not to say that YOU'RE not a guy or that you are a guy because I don't really know which one you are. But if you were one those guys, or gals, or people, who really did listen- I mean REALLY listen to what I have to say. I'm not saying, like, that, I'm, like, some kind of wrestling guru... although... yeah, I mean, if there was a guru in, in, in, in, in, in wrestling you would prooooobably, yeah, probably have to go with myself on that one. Yeah on that one. If you really listened to me, not saying I'm a guru or that I'm not a guru or that you're guy or not a guy, if you REALLY listened to what I, or some other guy or guru who isn't me, said, like, like, like. Uhhh. You'd have to, or *sigh* well, maybe you would have to, but you're probably... .... ... very... very, uh, likely to eventually figure out, or maybe more quickly depending on what, say, kind of fan you are or aren't, that what I, uh, have to say, uh, is, uh.. really... really... something to hear. If you know what I mean.

As soon as Punk left AEW, Tony Khan, Dave Meltzer and everyone associated with that godforsaken company realized just how bad it was for business and just how much value Punk had brought and then taken with him. So, now, all of these snakes are having to eat their words that they'd been using since Punk's departure to defame and hopefully devalue him only to realize that they'd been devaluing their own company all along.

Sorry for the long KZbin comment but I've wanted to state this for some time. I was a huge fan of F4W from the date of its launch, before it merged with the Observer Newsletter. I was a moderator for the Message Board and joyfully listened to every show. When I moved overseas, the website was my window to a hobby of which I could only rarely partake. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my subscription a few years ago. Not because I didn't want to listen... but instead because I couldn't. I would tune in to shows, hoping to hear the news and gossip in the entertainment industry I have followed my entire life, only to get gibberish. For a while I thought I was missing shows, where what was being talked about had been covered, with me coming into the middle of a breaking story. Then I believed I was the strange one for not devouring the newsletter the moment it is published, because I am supposed to read a 20,000 word book each week to know the news before listening to the news shows. Of course that is a ridiculous concept; that a listener needs a prerequisite of any kind before listening to any individual Podcast. In reality, about a year before the Pandemic, Dave's speech--already winding--devolved entirely into garbled nonsense. Worse, Bryan as a host has lost complete control of the show with him, not for lack of trying to his credit, with topics jumping and moving with absolutely no introduction or explanation. I used to happily troll Alvarez on The Board~! for years but honestly, he's really good at what he does as a radio personality. But no matter how good he is, trying to keep Dave on subject or even to explain what subject is being brought up or the story being referenced is a losing battle for anyone. I would love to hear Dave's thoughts on the wrestling business again, even AEW that he vastly overrates and WWE that he vastly underrates. While I didn't always agree with him, he offers unique insight, amazing historical knowledge and is one of the few reporters with a global viewpoint. Sadly, his speaking ability most closely resembles a person with a communication disorder, specifically circumstantiality or possibly even tangentiality, than a person whom should be interviewed on radio or a podcast. If I'm right on this, my condolences. But on the few times I've heard his shows referenced since I failed to renew my subscription, I see no evidence these communication disorder symptoms have gotten better or ever will.

@@ReiHost In English grammar, if someone says "you speak of wonderful things" or "they flaunt their wealth", it may sound like it refers to multiple instances, but it doesn't have to. Saying "he means" is the same as saying "by this, he is meaning". So no. You were meant to read it as: "which you are posting". As you can see, "you post" is more demeaning and deprecating.

Bryan used to correct Dave or rein him in when he started meandering aimlessly. At least that's how I remember it - I haven't listened to them for quite a while, except for the occasional KZbin clip here and there. It's as if Bryan just gave up at some point, because you can only do that with a co-host of a show for so long before you come off like a patronising dick. Ironically, Bryan's old gimmick on the B&V(&C) shows was to be just that... an arrogant patronising douche. But those shows had a generally comedic tone, something you could never pull off with Dave. Even when he wasn't what he is these days, he was almost completely humourless. The only comedy you will ever get from Meltzer, is unintentional.
