The three part harmony of Nicks, McVie and Buckingham is perfect.
@gailsimmons52702 жыл бұрын
The three singers in this band is Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie(keyboardist) and Lindsey Buckingham(lead guitarist) John McVie is Chritine’s ex-husband and Mick Fleetwood is the drummer and founder of Fleetwood Mac. Man you are missing out on concerts. There is nothing better than live performances. I turn 60 next month and in the last 35/40 years I have been to 250-300 concerts or more. I average anywhere between 6 to 10 concert’s a year if not more! I plan on continuing until I can’t see, hear or die and if I can’t drive anymore I will Uber there🤣🤣🤣🤣😎 I have already gone to one concert this year it was a Christmas present from my youngest, I have another concert next week and three more tickets for June. It’s who I am and it’s what I do! 🥰

The album that this song came off of was called "Rumors" and has got to be one of the greatest albums of all time. Just about every song on it was a hit. As for Stevie Nicks, I saw someone once describe her as sounding both young and and and old soul all at once - good description that.

“Their voices blend hella well together”… Stevie Nicks (singer) and Lindsey Buckingham (guitar player) used to be a couple, as others have mentioned. A lot of their songs are break up songs. Speaking of which, you MUST check out “Silver Springs” (Official video) by Fleetwood Mac. Stevie sings directly to Lindsey, with those ‘looks that could kill’ eyes… it’s obvious she never got over their breakup. And the song is a banger, as well! This reaction was awesome! Keep up the good work!! 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️

Christine McVie on keyboards provides the subtle 3rd vocal in backing. Love this band. The diversity, the passion, the lyrics, the vocals, even a little drama. ❤ Saw these guys in 76 with 10 friends from HS. Loaded a van and headed to Fargo. Great concert, great fun...BEST TIME!! 🥳🥴🎉 More FM or Stevie please. ❤😁

Fleetwood Mac is really interesting because they went through at least 3 different phases as a band. They first started as a straight up blues band and where often called Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac due to the gorgeous playing of Peter Green. They soon after had Bob Welch as a singer and were more mysterious and dreamy. Finally they settled and had their biggest success in the mid 70s when they added Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham ( after Welch left). All three phases of the band are worth listening to..

I strongly encourage you to watch the VH1 Classic Albums Fleetwood Mac Rumors documentary. Incredible view of the total disfunction of a band while understanding how they made a masterpiece together. I wasn't really familiar with them much then I happened to watch this and I've never been the same...Christine McVie is their secret weapon. Try You Make Loving Fun studio version so you get the total funk of her keyboards.

Fleetwood Mac is one of those bands that just sounds unbelievable outside the studio environment. I wonder how many bands nowadays can pull it off without tuning tricks etc. Wish I'd spent the money to see them on tour but never did.

And just imagine, the person she's singing about is on stage dueting with her. XD Fleetwood Mac was the Soap Opera rock band for many years. I definitely recommend seeing the full documentary on them. If I can remember correctly, the Rumors album was done completely with each band member in a separate room, cause they couldn't stand each other's presences. The song The Chain is representing what brought them altogether to begin with: their love of music. They all write and sing that one!

The entire Fleetwood Mac "Rumors" album is utter fire. It took 3 years, a mountain of cocaine, and some switching of partners within the group, but what came out of that mess is one of the all time best albums ever recorded (not just according to me, random internet person, but according to a whole lot of people.) There were times in the studio that they hated each other so much that they wouldn't even record together. It's all worth a listen. And you should look up the story of how it got made.

A few more comments - Regarding concerts and the fact that you've only been to 1 ... I say go to several (once its safe to do so). You don't even have to wait for "name bands to come to town. You've shown that you like learning and expanding your musical horizon, and I think that's a lesson for all of us. So with that said, I say try to find some local concerts...like concerts in a park kind of thing. Bring some sandwiches and enjoy just being outside and listening to music. I think you and your partner would find it enjoyable. (Us older ones here grew up on going to concerts ... I'd need several more hands to even get close to counting the number I've been to.) By the way, I can tell when she likes what she is hearing because she gets this smile that creeps up into her face.
