In the chorus, the names Eric and Erica are a play on “AmERICA” Also one of the dopest INTRO songs to an album (The Eminem Show) I’ve heard 🔥
@jonynos162 жыл бұрын
Could also be that, but: " Eric " is not a generic name. It's refering to the 1999 High school shotting at the time, it was the deadliest high school shooting in U.S. history. Like politicions/media acused people like Eminem of being the source of changing these kids character. Like Rap makes kids do this crap. " Erica " is just the Eric's that are girls

I remember they held senate hearings to try to shut him down and Aftermath/ Interscope were heavily picketed and so were his concerts,And the problem they really had with Em was his influence on the white suburban kids, it’s cool as long as rap stays in the hood but when it came to white suburban kids through Em it became a ”Problem” and this song is such a fucking classic and very powerful and shows Em’s awareness on how his skin color not only made it 10x harder for him to get on as a Hip Hop Artist but also was a great advantage in his department to become The Best Selling Hip Hop Artist Of All Time! And become The Goat Of Hip Hop but tbh he’s The Best not cause of any of dat it’s cause of his true God Given talent anyone put in Em’s position no matter what race would’ve gave up but he kept going and now folks/haters want him to quit and put the mic down but he’s only getting better with time like fine wine and he’s doing it for a bigger reason 1) Proof told him to never put the mic down 2) he just wants respect in the Rap Game PERIOD!✍🏽👊🏽🐐✨🎯💯(Please React to Eminem “Mosh” Lyric Video)

Em sings about the very things that try to shut him down and it's brilliant and exactly WHY he hasn't been shut down. If the Govt followed through.. then they'd show their true colors and they won't do that. Yet with Drump back in office, we'll most definitely see a lot of shut downs. Nazi regime in the house 😢

I love his song because it says so much but not least is that you can be racist to white people. The whole song he’s saying that he not done anything any other rapper hasn’t already done, people are targeting him specifically because he’s white because if he was black this wouldn’t be a problem. His music reaches white kids and suburbs, he’s a white man doing things society has decided only black people can do and the government is on his ass about it. So he made a song to give all his haters a big middle finger and all but actually call them racist.
