I work for BNSF in the Chicago division and i saw about 5 of them sitting on the "J" pocket track at Eola yard (my home terminal). I think there's about 3 or 4 left because one was placed on a train to Galesburg or the BRC.

Cool idea: GO could sell the two F59s to NCDOT for their Piedmont route and have them repainted into the old GP40PH state flag scheme, renumbering them to 1768 and 1792 (replacing the originals that were sold or destroyed). Not sure if that’ll happen, though.

GO just bought them to use them, not re-sell them. NCDOT should have purchased them from Metrolink if they wanted them.

@@therailfan5412understandable, i just find it ironic that the commuter system that runs from Raleigh to Charlotte and has a locomotive named after every stop in between doesn’t have locomotives for the termini.
