This is my old GT-Four!?! Where are all the gucci bits gone!? This is really sad to see 😞 at one point this had rocking horse poop compomotive mo6's, space grade carbon fibre and thermal lagging in the engine bay, dynod at 324hp 314nm without any tuning back in 2012. Actually looks like us had an engine swap because that's not how I left it at all.. However its nice to know someone still enjoying it thoroughly, this has ultimately made me smile, thanks for sharing

As I'm sure your aware having built your own motor there are always telltale signs that nobody else would bat an eyelid at but marks a key story in your memory. I'd 100% say yes to taking it out for a spin for nostalgia, though having the opportunity to get behind the wheel of my forged storm blue ST205 would definitely bring a tear to the eye I think. One of my biggest automotive regrets was selling L63MCF. Sigh.

I would choose the Celica GT4. I have one and have driven and looked at all sorts of alternatives in my 11 year ownership. It was my ‘stop gap to a Supra’ when I first bought it but I would never sell it now! The GT4s are a lot more appreciated these days than when I first bought it for £3k lol. Looks like the roll race was around 60mph. Standard setup in 3rd you are off boost and if you go for 2nd you need to change more or less instantly. Lost a few myself when my car was running a similar setup so know the pain! 😂 Should get a GT4, Evo and Scooby from the 90s all running like 500bhp for a Japanese Group A rally showdown 😎

Totally agree, a sorted 3sgte in good health (not neglected worn out examples) are one hell of an engine. I had a 1997 (rev4) mr2 turbo.... Forged pistons/apexi fc/greddy ic/decat/breathing mods etc and running 1.3bar on std ct20b turbo. Made around 320ish hp and that was more than enough to gap much more powerful cars (evos/sti's/m3s). Problem is many on the road now are tired and this gives false info regarding their true performance to people who don't know much about the gt4/mr2 turbo(especially rev3 onwards)

I wouldn't want to take corners at high speed in that modified Rav 4. It has a tall stance and a short wheelbase, a combination that is very bad for handling. Maybe if the owner lowered it and installed wider wheels, it could help a lot with the center of gravity.

With proper suspension bits, the RAV4 is surprisingly a good handler! Eats up curves well with that turbocharged 4 pot motor. I own a 1st gen RAV4 3-door with a 3S-GTE swap. Very quick from a dig and enjoyable as a daily driver!

GT-Four was struggling more as the races went on it looked like. Only one running a W2A intercooler also, which is great for short legs (rally) with cool off time or water change/dry ice etc, but inferior once heat soak sets in. Water taking longer to change temp works both ways. would be neat to see the times of each drag to see if the 205 did lose legs as racing went on or if Yaris & Rav just had a poor first run.
