Don't get to hung up on BHP figures. Its drivability that is key. You will now want 600 bhp once you get use to it. Good luck and enjoy your car.
@MrRoyck105 жыл бұрын
matthew follows you are so on point, most youtubers are on the bhp trajectory that completely misses the most essential point of a sports car which is drivability, character and soul of the car. All these 2000 bhp on a car designed as a performance car is a miss, I have seen them race super cars with 450 bhp and lose.

@mr.airgun69215 жыл бұрын
Spikey Mikey Crazy isn’t it? Was just thinking of all the fuss to get older 2.0 T’s to 400bhp, let alone 500bhp! Years ago I did a forged 2.5 in my sti, big injectors, parallel fuel mod, big turbo, FMIC fitting etc etc and it still didn’t even make 400bhp! Loads of planning, parts and hassle, now a day in a mint workshop and you can get a VW golf to 500bhp! I wouldn’t re-think a GTR though, at least the Rest of the GTR will take the power. I wouldn’t want to bet on the golf’s transmission liking 500bhp forever.
@brucewayne23975 жыл бұрын
Mr. Airgun wow you must of had something majorly wrong to not make even 400 bhp, mine made nearly 550 bhp on a 2.1 closed deck block rotated gt30 set up in my classic, on a gt35 an easy 600 bhp. Hell I made 412 bhp on a tiny td05 20g lol before when the car had the standard non forged 2.0.
@mr.airgun69215 жыл бұрын
Bruce Wayne this was on a 20g too, mapped by the late JGM at SRR (not an OTT reading dyno) and was tweaked a bit on the road. But I was just making the point of how relatively little amount of work needs to be done on these modern cars to make the power when I think back to everything I did. They don’t even need to change injectors to run over 500bhp, things just seem a lot easier these days to make power on. Going back to my cossie days a 500bhp cossie would have been a rare magazine feature, now anyone can drop their golf off for the day & pick it up later with 500bhp. Mind you, I still have two imprezas and I can’t imagine one of these new cars keeping my interest for more than a week. My mate has a new S3, remapped etc. It’s impressive but in the same way it’s impressive a microwave can cook food so quickly!
@brucewayne23975 жыл бұрын
@@mr.airgun6921 Mr. Airgun how cool simon mapped my car too also at Surrey rollers and tweaked on road not long before he became ill, i still have his map on the car even now all these years on. Yes i agree that theres alot less needing doing now days to get numbers, i have a comp pack m6 and with a few bits from evolve we are talking 800 bhp just like that but im also of the thought that time will tell as all these modern engines and dct gearboxes start to age on what the limits are and what the long term damage if any will be in many years to come as it takes time for things to slowly wear and eventually break. I still own my Impreza too but its kind of turned in to a garage investment now and its sorn and barely driven, its a p1 with full gt30 6 speed dccd set up with r180 diffs, shafts etc etc etc. Still a beast by modern standards doing 100 in just under 7 seconds on syvecs lc using good old fashioned hands an twin plate to change gear lol..these new cars make the power and have the quick gearboxes but they are also fat too, mine weighs about 1260 kg's which by today's standards is modern fiesta weight lol.
@mr.airgun69215 жыл бұрын
Bruce Wayne Blimey, that’s some spec! Mine are just a lowly V6 sti and a WRX wagon. Funnily enough I got the base 2.5 for my old type r (I spoke of above) off a big power P1 owner, didn’t sell it to me about 11 years ago? I hadn’t used my sti for nearly 2 years until a couple of weeks ago, put a smile on my face! P1 is a good investment no doubt but it’s almost a shame cars go that way as it makes you reluctant to use them. Can’t imagine what it must be like today owning a 22b that you bought 10 years ago, takes the enjoyment out.

On 32 psi(2.2 bar) it made 503 whp and have torque at 430 whtq. I think in 40 degree weather I'd be making another 20-30 whp. Dragy 60-130 mph time of 7.48 best with a 2 percent decline which would be like 7.6 with no decline. I can't get my gti to launch good though.
