check the weight of a 940turbo, the size is similar to a BMW e34 535i but it is actually lighter. All those silly stories about old Volvo's being heavy tanks are just not true.

Same. I love the fact that modded cars from that era are still a thing. The 2.3 redblock turbos are soooo underrated, people don't know the potential of these, on standard internals you can do 300hp with basic bolt on mods, if you go further like my brothers doing on his old 940 turbo then you can get 500hp.

it's definitely a blast from the past for me,started working at a volvo dealership in 2004 as a mechanic apprentice, when these where still running around more then now a days only we had ALOT of diesels with the straight 6 audi diesel engines in it and alot of miles on them to.Mostly old farmers😅 now i didn't work alot on them apart from the regular oil change now and then, the rest was for the old dogs in the garage, but yeah if your underneath one you would think your working on a tank lol.Nice build to see and big👍👍👍 for the owner for starting from scratch with no mechanical background, and let me tell you there's alot to learn if you want to be a mechanic,so big props for the owner, love people like that who just do it,and 9/10 they create amazing builds.Proper dtm wagon for the road.👍✌️👉

Haven driven mostly turbo charged old Volvos, I would say that even 200 HP in an older RWD volvo feels faster than a low 3 second new car. The new cars are much quicker, but also more comfortable, easier to drive etc. so they do give you geforce, but they dont really feel that quick anyways. Im forever a Volvo fan of the old RWD models. Nice wagon! I actually grew up in Volvos also, a orange 1978 wagon and a blue 242, as well as a brown 244 were some of my favs we had when I grew up!

I like the build a lot, and props for a first try. I wish he'd kept the exterior as low key as the interior personally, but to each their own, though it still is very pretty.

scoobyman76 , If you want the real old school, look at a 1932 Ford 3-window Coupe or a '55 Chevy.

Hello mate. I recently saw this car get unfairly roasted on an other channel. My opinion is this car is brilliant, I love it. Never ever sell it,you've got something unique, this is coming from someone who still owns his first, second, third, fourth and fifth car. In short keep it.

@@BenGrayphoto that emily sheilds. I believe roasting is negative, and damaging to the car world. Those of us who own and enjoy old cars, are out laws, similar to Robin. We need to bond, and stick together, as opposed to finding fault with one anothers disaplins. There's enough idiot neighboughs,or the Barclays employee's of the month community that are only to willing to condemn us on a daily basis, we don't need friends and allies condemning us as well. That aside emily does do a good blog, hats off to her, and to that 240 volvo, its definitely got a place in my fantasy museum, along side the general lee and burt reynold's firebird.

@@BenGrayphoto that's alright, as long as it was only a bit of fun. The car is fantastic., and as I said previously, never sell it, I've kept all my cars and there has been times when i couldn't afford to fix them, so i just moth balled them for a year or 2, then got them back on the road. That first time back in a car after a rebuild is brilliant. Similar to going on the piss with an old friend who you ain't seen in years. I bet it makes mince meat of them porches boxers

It might be impressive seeing a corsa hit 157mph on a drag strip but seeing a wardrobe on wheels hit 60 in 7 seconds with a solid beam rear axel is so much more entertaining 😂
