My daughter Ashley gave me the CD and DVD right when I needed it. I still listen to it every week, and watch it every month. It’s among my most treasured possessions, I felt privileged to own it. I remember driving through a blizzard from Aviemore to get to the Brothers in Arms concert in Edinburgh, late December 1985. We had to stop and put chains on the car tyres. It was so very much worth the effort. I have loved Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler from the Sultans of Swing beginning. And the music is still my daily life listening. It makes me tearful just writing this. Thank you, Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits, for an adulthood of exemplary music.

I listen to Walk of Life for mood booster whenever I suffer blue swings. It's a pity many Indians are yet to discover and understand this gem of a band. "Musical masters" indeed (that's the truth!) No matter what I say though...it fails to express how much I love it ;-) And then that one's done, and you wish it wasn't...but then it's on to the next masterpiece, gorgeously played and sung. Yes, a beautiful concert and steeped in American folk/country music - some of the key influences that have shaped Mark's music and guitar playing across half a century. The only things I'm missing here are that they might have included a few tracks from the first two Dire Straits albums, with their jazz/country infuenced playing and soulful solos, songs like "In the Gallery", "Once Upon a Time in the West" (edit: West, not Wurst!) 😄 and "Single-Handed Sailor" would have fit in seamlessly here - and also, I would have loved if Emmylou had been given a newly written verse or two to make her a part of the glowing rendition of "Romeo and Juliet". But those are just minor points (and the early Straits can be seen/heard live in two outstanding German recordings from 1979: the Rockpalast show (live on TV) from Essen and the Cologne live album. Both of them here on KZbin.)🎸

Danny Cummins is quite an underrated drummer. His performance in Speedway at Nazareth is simply sensational.

Sometimes magnificence unfolds in front of you and afterward - you realize that is what you just experienced. Not everything was perfect but, that is exactly why it was and remains, perfect. To you. This concert is that, for this music lover and appreciator of musical magnificence. Thank you Mark, Emmylou and every other band member. Each musician amazing. Collectively - again, Magnificent! Covering some of my fave DS tunage brought tears to my heart - sooooo many memories, so much living lived, love loved, love lost - to a DS soundtrack….

I really like that Bluegrass fiddle in the mix on various songs - it really adds some Secret Sauce to what we're hearing. At other times, it sounds almost Irish in character. The pairing of Knopfler's guitars and the tone they exhibit are a very nice fit for Emmylou's 'voice of an angel'. Beautiful blend, balance and contrast between the guitars and her vocal.
I was having an awful day today, dealing with the ugliness and human tragedy that is the emergency room where I work. Walk of Life in my playlist led me to stumble into this gem, and never has staying late to finish patient charts been such a wonderful experience. Mark Knopfler and EmmyLou Harris...this is what's on God's playlist when He has a rough day.

I just came home from the hospital and have to lay down for the next few days. After watching "Down From The Mountain" today I came across this show. Two incredible musicians and singers with no ego just a true love of music. This is the first time I watched a concert video and was actually clapping between songs. Thank you Mark and Emmylou for sharing your talent and going out and making people happy. I couldn't have found a better way to spend my afternoon recovering then with you two in my living room playing such beautiful music. And thank you to all the world class musicians who signed on for the tour to help make just pure magical music together.
