I was struggling with my moms struggle when she took care of my father. The last moments of here life she cried so much for feeling guilty she couldnt keep up taking care of him. When she died, I let my father hear this beautiful song. He was such a fan of Marks music. So he wanted to play this song at her funeral. My father played this song over and over in the 3,5 years he had left after my mom died, it was his way of staying close to her in his memory, and asked me to play this at his funeral too. Half a year ago, it was his time to let him go and lead him to his last destiny. Wherever I Go and Going Home were played at his funeral. And now it’s my turn to keep the songs alive and remember the beautiful parents I had… my greatest examples in life.

I just recently lost my Twin Brother and now I carry the pain he shared with me for year's. I was his only family. It was so hard to hear the pain he carried and the damage of us never being wanted as children the abomination of abuse from extremely bad parenting. He had a very deep soul and was just such a beautiful person, in mine and many others lives. He even donated all of his entire estate to a local University worth millions. So as to educate young adults to become someone they want to be, to literally make dreams come true.How many young adults will be able to go-to school in My "Beloved Brothers Name". This song with Mark's Beautiful Word's and with Ruth's Angelic voice tells a story of me saying my goodbyes to my brother. A salute to my brothers last goodbye. I have always believed in the stars and it's glorious heavens. I turn on my usual heels before I say my final Goodbyes. I don't believe in goodbys I believe we will see everyone we have meet no matter how small (saying to keep your books in order) tomorrow is never promised. We all are fragile that is what makes us stronger!! Be Good do Great Thing's No Matter How Small you may feel.How soothing the sounds of the water the beautiful black and white filming is a work of art in it's self.The gravel under his feet, his goodbys hanging of the coat on the broken ship all tie themselves together for me. "He Truly is a Fixed Star In My Sky". Thank You Mark and Ruth you Truly Have Sent Me, A Most Beautiful Marked And Fixed Star How Beautifully And Wild It Shines................... Thank You*

I don't understand why Mark has always been so unknown. All anyone knows by him is his work with Dire Straits, and from Dire Straits only a few of his hits (this being the result I get when I ask others if they know who Mark Knopfler is). I just wish they could hear this; all of those who have nothing but Sultan's of Swing in their mind. All of those who listen to today's modern popular music. All of those who forgot that real music still exists. Real artists still write. And real artists can move you. He is now 68, and in my opinion he is making the best music of his career. Pray there is no slowing down in him. We need you Mark, keep doing what you're doing. We will always be here to listen.
@LillianaBMS6 жыл бұрын
He's not underrated at all; indeed, MK is deeply appreciated by those who know music. It's simply that today's music scene does not typically play deep, original and authentic musical masterpieces, and prefer to promote the likes of Gaga, Bieber, Kanye & Jayzee. However you chose to interpret that agenda, there are still those of us who have been fortunate enough to have been exposed to great caliber musical masterpieces, and who continue to follow musicians who tend to be, shall we say, 'unplugged from the mainstream.' By being unplugged from formulas, this brilliant mind has been unfettered and free to actually create what are not only musical masterpieces, but life commentaries which deeply touch our souls on so many emotional levels. There are many artists who have done their best work away from the pop agenda. Mark Knopfler is akin to that exquisite & rare red wine, whose caliber and expressive notes continue to expand with time. It's also terrific that with the internet we are able to rediscover the greats more easily! Yes, he is the absolute best!!!

"There’s a place in my heart Though we’re far apart May you always know No matter how long since I saw you I’ll keep a flame there for you Wherever I go ..." Love this song... Mark Knopfler, so true like always! :)

Mark's music and voice has the uncanny ability to paint over what is decayed and ugly in this often unsettled society that we live in. Like a broad brush his music sweeps over the dark areas of your soul and replenishes it with beautiful colors that that can easily be faded by the rigors of everyday life. Thank you Mr. Knopfler for continuing to give me these little reprieves. May the sun always shine through your window.

How are you doing today Suse J Moore? Its really nice having you on here .. I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many levels. Trust, communication, loving, honoring, understanding, patience and respecting your partner. So crucial to provide balance. This is what creates such great chemistry between two people that are committed to one another.

When I listened for the very first time to this song from the Tracker album I loved it immediately and the voice of Ruth Moody is so awesome. She's a wonderful singer... Thank you for this video.

Yes, thanks to MK I discovered Ruth's career, but also Emilou Harris's and Chet Atkins ! So many names we won't hear off in the netherlands. Somewhere country and folk is dull and boring.. Can't figure it out why.. it's just a great genre inside the 'songwriters' genre !
