We got to see Dire Straits on the Brothers in Arms tour. It was a memorable concert; we saw some of the best performances of the 70s and 80s, and they were among the very best. We’d love to see Mr. Knopfler again.

Mark comes on stage slapped with a towel in his hand - and then he delivers a sound that makes me get goose bumps again and again.

Give Bonnie her due - at the 4:30 mark she shows her guitar has earned her a place next to Knopfler.

I love this version of the song with Bonnie Raitt instead of Ruth Moody. The two guitars complement each other so well, as do the voices. Bonnie's voice goes from velvety to raspy, always with a lot of feeling. I could listen to both of them for hours.

Was there in 1986 at Christchurch NZ ... the whole city enjoyed that concert ... the road crew did a great job ... it was a big sound and it filled the city. Wherever ... Mark you and the band gave it all ... may you forever be young, just as we all stay young forever.

"Wherever I Go" Maybe I’m bound to wander From one place to the next Heaven knows why But in the wild blue yonder Your star is fixed in my sky Just another bar at a crossroads So far from home But that’s alright Whenever I’m going down a dark road I don’t feel alone in the night There’s a place in my heart Though we’re far apart May you always know No matter how long since I saw you I’ll keep a flame there for you Wherever I go They’re looking to close up in here They’re pulling down the blinds But they’ll let you stay awhile They’re not going to mind Now I’ve got to leave you, brother So this round’s mine Here’s looking at you, anyhow You can go on and have another They won’t call time I’m going to say my goodbyes now There’s a place in my heart Though we’re far apart May you always know No matter how long since I saw you I’ll keep a flame there for you Wherever I go

Mark Knopfler is a Guitarist that I tend to gravitate toward; he's Personal, and Poetic; especially, in his later days. This NYC Concert at the Garden, was unusual. It wasn't merely the size of the Band; but, Mark generously gave many of them the Stage to express their musical genius. The Concert mirrored NYC, itself: so many individual voices waiting to be heard. This is a Concert that everyone should experience, from its beginning to the end...
