The bison were killed and skinned for their hides by the French trappers. It was set in the very late 1600's or early 1700's. The dog's part was increased from the original plan due to its personality. The dog was legit a rescue. You should watch 2010's Predators with Adrian Brody.

I like to talk about the subtle nuances I notice after watching a movie multiple times. I keep watching the ending and I think the actor who played Naru's mother did a great job for an extremely short amount of screentime. When Naru comes back you can see relief in her face even though she's reminded of the son she lost. She has her daughter back. But then you see pride. Her daughter didn't just come back alive, she came back as War Chief. But then she realizes what that means...War Chief is always at the front of the line, first in battle, taking danger and death head on. Also, I love how the Chief just kinda shoves her forward after giving her the spear. Kinda like, "You wanted it, you got it." Very good film.

Not all reptiles have thermal sensory organs, but rattle snakes are pit vipers, which do have thermal pits, yes. I really liked the story-telling that they were doing with the Predator in this movie. This is obviously one of the first, if not *the* first visit to Earth by the Predators, so they haven't determined that humans make for the best, most challenging prey yet. He works his way up by studying the animals, watching the rattler kill the rat, then the wolf going after the hare before deciding to test them as opponents. He does the same with the bear attacking Naru later, before going after the Comanche hunters/warriors after realizing they have weapons. I also love that the movie showed how the Predators have also progressed in terms of technology, like having a weapon with the triangular laser pointer, but instead of it being a plasma cannon it's a predecessor that fires flechette darts.

Loved watching your reactions (just for context, I am a 48 y.o. Marine veteran and Predator '87 is one of my very fave movies!). I LOVED this movie! The vitriol this has been getting from some just baffles me, especially when people try to claim she has no arc and is a flat character. I don't agree with that at all and thought she had some great development. In the beginning she was so inexperienced that her confidence was really unearned, but by the end she had really developed into a predator herself. That so many miss that her arc was in her transition from prey to predator just baffles me. I mean, the movie goes out of its way to show us that she is no match for these things she is fighting (cat, bear, young men, etc). I mean they show us the bear will kill her, and then this crazy alien monster thing kills the bear... with it's bare hands, mind you... and then presses it up over it's head and bathes in it's blood... I mean... seriously??? I have also seen claims of "plot armor." Well no kidding. If she died halfway through, the movie wouldn't be about her. She survives these scrapes by being just a little faster... or smarter... or observant, and all come together to teach her how to win. Anyway, don't mean to ramble. Was great watching your reactions. THX for the great video! :)

No rambling at all! Loved your insightful comment. We started this channel for this precise reason, to talk all about the films we love and meaningful comments like this warms our heart. First of all, thank you for your service. I’m pretty sure a Marine would be an awesome match vs the predator haha. That’s exactly how we saw it too! Her arc is right there and it’s a great one. She is not a perfect hunter. She is insecure in the beginning. Not minding her surroundings etc But through this movies we get to see her learn from past mistakes, come out of tight situations and eventually outsmart the predator himself. And becomes a huntress by the end of the film and it is implied she is in fact the most respected one in the tribe. SO WHAT DO THEY MEAN NO ARC!? Cmon, people will bash to bash. If it didn’t go the way they were expecting it’s a bad film. I thought it was absolutely fantastic and executed in such a polished way, predator fans should be proud! The Yautja (Predator race) call their hunting ritual, The Path. This is what they are born to do. To constantly prove themselves in a dangerous hunt. The law is to hunt the prey that kills, and to match the quarry, weapon for weapon, hence the spear and bolt gun in this film (although some say the Yautja haven't develop their energy weapons at this point of time). And yes, in the books, they do hunt Xenomorphs, which they dubbed "Kainde Amedha" which translates to Hard Meat (the Predators called us Soft Meat, btw 😂). They also referring the Xenos as "serpents". Usually they prove themselves by using spears, scatterguns, or even their bare hands when hunting Xenomorphs.

Those " cows" were actually buffalo that were killed for their hides, and the rest was left to rot. Fur trappers killed them. This was supposed to have been in the year 1719.

Thank you! We didn’t get it watching it the first time because at that point we haven’t met the trappers yet so of course the predator was my main suspect haha while watching that’s actually the one thing that had me confused so thank you for clarifying 😃

And yes, the fact that they wrote a human character who happens to be female, so well done. Love your guys vids, keep up the high quality content

The predators came back for the body at the end. You'll see the art drawings of the ships arriving. The elders always there to watch the battle. They bring back any evidence and reward the winner with a trophy 🏆. So the winner was the girl so she got a old western gun. These are just teenage predators so they make a lot of mistakes in battle. This one didn't even know how all his weapon's worked. He even went into the open to retrieve his arrows. Which means this one didn't pay much attention to his training. They also wear amour to blend in the environment and prey they're hunting. This one was given arrows instead of a plasma blaster because that's what the prey used at that era of time. These predators which species is called yautja can live for over a thousand years. Some don't make it that far because they're always hunting. Elders are worship and don't hunt much because of old age. It doesn't mean they can't cuz they're still in their prime. They're also the ones that originally created the xenomorphs. In predator concrete jungle PS2 game in a intro cut scene. The elders dropped the young predator on a planet with original xenomorphs. You'll see their true insect form. The predators that engineered them to mixed with other species which was the smaller version of facehugger. The yautja species has been around for millions of years. So our spieces are literally babies in technology. They have advanced technology that they never showed to human beings. They only use technology that blends in to that world and not too overpowered. If the weapons are too powerful that's a unfair advantage for them. That's why they're still vulnerable in when wearing armour. They need to know they still can die if they messed up.

i love the movie but honestly the last fight is very very biased for her to win,if the predator can hold its own against a bear fairly easely and lift it up in the air above its head with ease then she has no chance of escaping his grasp or even budging herself between those rocks her head would have been cut of,also when she pulls him into the quick sand there is no way she can pull his weight so easely,and 3rd that predator knows his equipment better then her the moment he got the red dots on his face he would have ducked so the shot missed,this fight was so hard in favor of her.
@OfficialMediaKnights2 жыл бұрын
You’re absolutely right from a logical stand point haha we do have to suspend disbelief a little. For the last one though I don’t think the predator had enough time to react to his own shot. A lot of the times in movies they “stretch” the time and make it almost double for the audience to catch on. So the reaction is stronger. But in real time it probably wasn’t as long for the predator to react. He saw it but it was too late.

I was glad they didn't kill the dog. The part when the French person goes to kill it I was all "Dude why? What are you gonna even accomplish by killing the dog?" The only thing I didn't like is that it completely retcons how the Elder Predator from Predator 2 got the pistol that he then gives to Mike Harrigan. Anybody who has read the Predator 1718 comic will know exactly what I am talking out.

Never can that "mix" of elements be achieved again. 1st of all = the cast , who are these ppl,never heard of any of these actors! 2nd,the music, Silvestri's score was so good it was beating sales as a separate soundtrack! 3.It was tje franchises birth,makers did'nt have material to work with! 4.CGI did'nt exist back then,but the film still managed to look awesome with full practical fx. 35 yrs ago... 5.Here the makers could'nt reprise the surprising element,we all know what the Predator looks like,1st film had the "reveal"... Thanks so much for the comment! We honestly loved this film. We both care deeply about representation in film and shows, but we have also seen how so many films just use it for pandering/cash grabs with superlazy writing instead of genuinely putting in effort to writing great characters. This movie avoided all of that and delivered us some great culture, spectacle and action. What a thrill!

The scene with the skinned cows. Those were buffalo, and it wasn't the predator who did it. It was the French. The predator only goes after other predators to establish dominance. It doesn't go after weaker species, and would not just wasted animals like that wholesale.

The Yautja only kill prey that kills. The snake, wolf, bear, even Naru's dog who the Feral recognizes as hunting dog, a warrior's companion. But from what I read from the novels, Yautjas sometimes kill weaker animals too, but only for sustenance, since they are carnivores.

@@nitrokid "Naru's dog who the Feral recognizes as hunting dog, a warrior's companion" I doubt it was that deep. Its more likely that, within the few seconds it sees the dog charging at it, the predator thinks its another wolf similar to the one that it had just killed yesterday.

Great reaction as always .👍👍👍 I truly love this movie , in fact this was the best film of 2022 for me , I went into this after seeing the previous entry The Predator and was expecting it to be another lacklustre average entry in the Predator franchise imagine my surprise when it was truly amazing . It is so great in every aspect , the Directing by Dan Trachtenberg ( 10 Cloverfield Lane ) was fantastic , the action scenes are sooo great I love the scene where the Predator slaughters the French fur trappers so brutal .The story and character are great , the Cinematography was amazing the truly great shots of the landscape are so beautiful , the acting is fantastic Amber Midthunder is great as Naru and Dakota Beavers is just as great as Taabe ( Hard to belive this is his first movie ) I love the way the Predator looks slightly different to the others and that the weapons are a bit more primitive using arrows not Plasma Cannons , and as for the soundtrack by Sarah Schachner it is one of my favourites so atmospheric and exciting in the right places , if I had any slight criticism it is that Native Americans in 1700 would not have used modern terms like bleed out , and that the other guys in the tribe apart from Taabe were the cliched male chauvinists but these are very minor criticisms so all in all a truly great film which was way better than I thought it would be .
