Wendy, Mpule and Lara for me mark a brief but distinct era of Miss Universe. An era marked by festive host countries, intelligent winners and up pulled back high hairstyles. Much like Pia,Iris and Demi, they were an iconic trio in their time. I remember seeing a picture of the three of them address the United Nations on AIDS and another where they were all in Trinidad for carnival.

For me, Lara Dutta's interview was really nothing that noteworthy other than that she was very articulate. What really pushed it to a near perfect score was her exquisite demonstration of the dance's hand movements....you can almost envision her dancing even though she wasn't.

@@vivekk4793 They competed in different years so we can't directly compare, Lara may beat Catriona in Trump standards but you cant say she Lara can still beat cat in IMG standards. Catriona was rumoured the true winner in Miss world 2016 she was cheated.

@@avishkajha7g709 Speaking skills aren't guaranteed. Remember in 2020 miss peru has best answer and in 2016 miss Haiti has best interview but they still lost. You can't really predict what the judges are looking for
