As soon as Peter hung up on Tony he tracked his suit. Probably was seeing everything Peter was doing as well.

You see, a responsible adult probably would have told him, "Hey I got your messages, I'm taking care of this personally, don't worry about it now. Thank you so much for your hard work, I'll remember this." Then Peter thinks, 'Oh okay it's all good now', goes back to his neighborhood watch duty. Then again, Tony is still learning about what it means to mentor someone. He spent his whole life learning to be alone, to be self sufficient

The problem is, Peter would've still went to the Ferry and helped even if he knew about the FBI. Remember that the reason why he wanted to catch The Vulture so badly was to impress Tony Stark and join the Avengers. He's still a kid and immature, not until at the end where he realized it's not bad fighting crime in a neighborhood scale. Turning down Tony's offer to join the Avengers was a first sign of his maturity.

@@mobilelegendsmemes Also like, the FBI stood no chance against Vulture. As was clearly demonstrated when he bust out of the van with his suit on and instantly made them panic.

@@mobilelegendsmemes yup. *Tony* - "If you come across these weapons again, call Happy." *Peter* - _finds alien weapon, takes it to school, hits it with hammer, and gives it to a friend_ If Peter had done what they asked, he'd have been told of the FBI getting involved when they picked up the weapon. Instead, he tried to solve things on his own and caused TWO explosive disasters.

Because it was totally on Tony for not revealing that he contacted the feds knowing full-well that Peter was hunting him. This was on Tony. Also not only does Peter attempt to save the lives he feels he's endangered (even though it's Tony's fault), but he also genuinely lets go of his ego and changes after this scene. Then of course, becomes a better hero. That's how I feel bad for Peter after this.

@@hazmat4260 Why would Tony reveal the existence of a sting operation to a 16-year old kid? Doesn't matter that he's a superhero, he's still a kid and his judgement has a long way to go (I raise you Mysterio). Tony told him what he needed to know and only an idiot or child sees it otherwise.

​@@Thescott16 Because he knows that kid is hunting that supervillain. He doesn't need to tell him the specfics of the sting operation. Just "I'll report it to the right authorities" and boom. This would get Peter to back off. Remember? Peter reported this to both Happy and Tony with the hopes that they would do something. He even asked if the Avengers can handle this. He even says after the ferry incident: "None of this would've happened if you'd just listened to me!" So basically if Tony had informed him that he listened, this would've been avoided. And you yourself stated, he's a 15 year old kid. Tony has to be the responsible adult and let him know. So it's on him.

@@hazmat4260 It's on both of them. Boy didn't need to be told any more than he was: he was told to drop it, and he didn't. That's on Peter. Tony could have communicated better but that doesn't absolve Peter from his part of not listening to what he was instructed to do by his mentor. He was so focused on his feelings of inadequacy, his feelings of not being trusted by Tony, that he didn't trust Tony to know what was going on and be doing something about it. Let's put it another way: Peter seriously thought that Tony Stark, Iron Man, the richest and smartest guy in the world who owns a surveillance satellite network and builds sci-fi tech for fun in his spare time, didn't know about and wasn't going to do anything about the thefts of alien tech. That was Peter being a very dumb kid.

​@@Thescott16 Since when is it in character for Spider-Man to drop hunting the bad guy just because he's told to? Especially when he's given no reassurance that someone else will handle it? Kinda goes against his "see something do something" policy. In fact, it's what often brings him into conflict with other heroes. Also you're conveniently forgetting that Tony told him that this thing is below his and the rest of the Avengers' pay grade. So yeah, Peter had valid reasons to think Tony Stark wasn't going to do anything about it. Especially since he's not known for fighting street-level crime anyway. Peter was actually doing a solid job taking down Vulture until the sting operation got in his way. Something that wouldn't have happened if Tony Stark had been the responsible adult and said "I'll handle it." Which is what Peter WANTED him to do. So no. While Peter's lack of experience was definitely a factor in the ferry incident, the majority of what went wrong is attributed to Tony's negligence.

If I were Peter, I would record and forward whatever I saw about these dangerous weapons, criminal faces, and their voices to Tony Stark so he would take the matter seriously.

Spidey caused Vulture to rush to suit up. Without Spidey on the ferry- *Best-case scenario:* _FBI has the time to make a proper ambush and arrests both gangs_ before _Vulture can suit up; Damage Control confiscates weapons; ship stays intact._ *Worst-case scenario:* _Vulture and Shocker get away; a few FBI agents have injuries; Scorpion gang gets arrested; Damage Control confiscates weapons; ship stays intact._
