@@mono9702Fr though the CGI has gotten pretty bad, which I can almost forgive if the writing wasn’t shit too. I’m a huge nerd for superhero comics and movies, but I just cannot watch these new marvel movies. They’re either mid or garbage. NWH may have been purely fanservice but they still wrote a great story for it and the CGI is top notch. Can’t say the same for most new marvel movies. Don’t even get me started on She Hulk. It has to be one of the worst shows I’ve ever suffered through watching.

One thing I love about this scene is how, unlike Spider-man 2, Doc Ock's human body doesn't take repeated strikes to the head and just keep going. As far as I can see, Ock himself only gets hit twice here (at 3:32 and 3:46), and both of them are Spider-man jumping onto his chest and kicking away rather than landing a proper hit. This fits in nicely with Ock's extremely aggressive fighting style, where he has to dominate the pace and keep his opponent on the backfoot because he's a glass cannon and is doomed if he actually trades blows. One thing I didn't love is at 3:05 when he gets slammed into the dean's car window hard enough to knock the entire car halfway through the concrete barrier, but apparently not hard enough to actually break the glass.

People ask why Doc didn’t recognize that Tom wasn’t the Peter he knew, here’s some points: 1. It’s not like he knows anyone else that’s under the identity of Spider Man, so there’s not a lot of reason for him to think it’s anyone else. 2. Even with the nanotech suit, Doc himself has arms that are somewhat autonomous (and the fact that he recognizes it as nanotech means it’s not too far off-base for Peter to have that kind of tech. 3. Different voice and suit don’t really matter much since that works off the same assumptions as the first point (in that there IS multiple Spider-Mans/Peter Parkers that he knows of), which- to his knowledge- wasn’t true (yet).

Despite being defeated rather quickly, Peter only landed ONE hit on Octavius, while this maniac literally smashed him multiple times with everything around him and landed a killing blow on Spidey. Peter would be dead if he wasn’t wearing didn’t the suit that Tony gave him. This shows how utterly dangerous Doc Ock was.

To those who don't know, S.T.A.R.K. tech synching Doc Ock's arms with Peter's suit is actually a reference to something. In the original script for the first Iron Man movie (when they were considering to have Tobey's Spider-Man be part of the MCU), they were going reveal that S.T.A.R.K. Industries were the ones who made the tentacles for Otto. That's not the case in the comics. I'm glad they decided not to go with that root 'cause otherwise it would've been like another thing of the MCU in which Tony was responsible for one of Spider-Man's villains being made. But I do like this little easter egg.
