Akira Torayama, who drew Dragon Ball and Doctor Slump, liked Hong Kong films. Actually, it's far beyond simple likeness-according to some interviews, his office was playing Jackie Chan films 24/7. Impressed by this scene, He made his main character eat like Jackie Chan in this film. Later, influenced by his mangas, it became the stereotype of the main character of Japanese adventure mangas.

Same. His 80s, 90s movies were the best. Some 2000s films were good. But I didn't like any of his Hollywood movies. The choreography was average, humour lost in translation. My fav Jackie movie is still Drunken Master 1978. Did you know this eating scene inspired Goku's character in Dragonball?
