And I watched the J6 purge attempt on your Congress live and in colours. Man, that was a day to remember! Remember when Trump wanted to buy Greenland? Well, Greenland is an autonomous "province" under Danish supremacy and -protection, albeit with its own parlament and two representatives in the Danish parlament, and both Greenland and Denmark adamantly declined Trump's offer. Denmark sold the Virgin Islands to USA in 1917 for (then) 25 million USD, so it wasn't like Trump's idea was unprecedented. But after all, things change a lot in a hundred years. You might be aware that USA has a military base on Greenland (Thule Air Base) which is a bit of an embarrassment to all three countries since the USA is a nuclear power and since Denmark (and thus principally also Greenland), despite being a Nato member, doesn't allow nuclear weapons on her soil. USA always deny on principle if there are nuclear weapons present on American bases or in American military vehicles (but who wouldn't?), and varying Danish governments always pretended there weren't any, until, that is, a B 52 crashed on the Greenland ice cap on the 21st January 1968 after the crew bailed out due to a fire. On impact, the conventional explosives in the four B28 Hydrogen bombs on board exploded and spread both plane and radioactive material from the bombs over a large area, causing a subsequent debate on how to protect Greenland's fragile arctic ecology. It's all on Wikipedia. From 1958 to 1967, the US Army also had an experimental military base that was powered by a mobile nuclear power plant (basically a submarine power plant). However, they had to scrap the base because there was much more movement in the ice than expected which gradually tore the base apart. This base was called "Camp Century" and there's a broadcast about it here on KZbin.
