I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions when it comes to Sammy. But I believe that Sammy never would have flipped if John had not been doing at least three things that I'm aware of. The first thing John did was get caught on tape bad-mouthing Sammy. Now that on its own isn't enough of a reason to flip. But when you consider it in the larger picture it becomes huge. Those tapes could have been used by a good defense lawyer to paint the picture that Sammy was the actual power behind the family. John and his lawyer could have laid out a scenario where it was Sammy who was ordering all the murders and running the family. So those tapes were a big motivating factor for flipping. Then you have John telling Sammy that he couldn't sever his case from John's. Which essentially would have worked to quash any defense that Sammy could have mounted. Then there was John telling Sammy that "the streets need the boss outside". Which meant that John was ordering Sammy to accept being scapegoated so that John could go free. Under those circumstances, I would have rolled too. Sammy told a story once about Frank Locascio. In the story Sammy wondered why Frank never flipped. Sammy believes that had Frank flipped he would have been home long ago. But in the end, he wound up dying in prison last year. Sammy, on the other hand, has been home for years and has become an internet celebrity. He has his share of detractors but if I had to choose between being respected by a bunch of strangers who post negative comments on websites or having those same people think lowly of me while having my freedom and family around me during my golden years, then the choice is an easy one. But that's just my opinion and like I said earlier, everyone is entitled to theirs.

Mr. Gravano : I want to wish you an exceptionally Happy Birthday, which will arrive 4 days from now ( March 12 ). I pre-signed to become a follower of your podcast 3 to 4 months before it was ever broadcast . People ask me why, in light of my former profession ( retired police sergeant of detectives ) I would have chosen to do so ; I tell them this : I bought Sammy's book as soon as it hit the shelves and completed reading it in just 3 and a half days . After spending many years of listening to b***s*** stories, I know one when I hear one . I found Sammy to be very insightful, empathetic at times, very fair, and most of all, truthful ! Once I started watching the podcasts I began to see in his character all of the very same character traits I felt when reading his book. But the very best assignation which has been made about Sammy and which was documented by prison tapes and law enforcement employees who listened to those tapes, were made by his nemesis , John Gotti , who said this about Sammy : " You can say a lot of things about Sammy, but the one thing you can't say is that he's a liar. ". With that type of character backup, especially in light of all that had already happened, how could you not believe in the veracity of Sammy Gravano and all that he stands for? Once again. Happy Birthday, Sammy, and I wish you many, many more !

These are done so well. In such a short time the internet has surpassed anything we were ever allowed to see on TV. Podcasts in general have decimated TV because of the freedom of the content developers. You're basically sitting across from Sammy in his house. He's not reading a script written by other people. Some people might not enjoy story telling as an art but I love this stuff more than anything on the internet. Whoever chose the over-all theme and music really hit it out of the park. The affection and respect you had for John comes through when you're talking about those days after the hit on Paul. Your voice and your facial expressions exude warmth toward him. Unfortunately, John couldn't see (or wouldn't see) how his ego and his narcissism were destroying what he risked his life and his reputation to achieve. Along with his temper, those factors clouded his judgement. He had you with your loyalty and your love in a profession where there is frequent betrayal, yet his jealousy and his ego destroyed your relationship, and in doing so, destroyed him.

What's up man...do they still have the outdoor Italian market down there? I can't remember what street it was off of, Washington Ave, or Snyder, or Mifflin, I can't remember, but my mom used to take me down there when I was a kid at least 1ce a month. When I was 18, I had a job on Broad and McKean selling circus tickets. I used to know the streets really well. I barely remember any of it now.

Sammy’s biggest mistake wasn’t his lack of loyalty to his family and the streets, it was his loyalty to a snake that brought him down with him

It’s always the loyal ones the get the worst in the end sadly but true

End of day gotti his dead he did his time like a man. Sammy turned grass and all you people lop his stories up and think it's all true. I like listening to him and he's done more work than anyone alive but ffs don't compare him to other people and suck his dick. You idiots blame gotti for ruining mafia when Sammy put more men behind bars than any fucker alive and tbh who gives a shit them times are gone but Sammy killed more of his mates than Hitler gassed Jews he's 💯 a fking snake

Sammy is an even bigger snake. He murdered the man who made him, his friends, his sister's husband. He then testified against everyone, not just Gotti.

Yo Sammy! You guys should put the narrator back in. “Brooklyn...1985” Gives good context and sounds cool.

The way Sammy explains things..I won't call them stories. He explains what happened in a way that is more understanding than any story I can recall.
