Rumor has it Greg Scarpa took out Colombo..he was talking to colombo everyday prior to him getting shot.Colombo told Scarpa that a few weeks before his death, a car full of black guys rode by his house trying to intimidate him..Colombo and Scarpa were always talking about the fact that Gallo had friendly relations with black guys and puerto ricans and others..Everyone knew that..his crew was international..So why would gallo sanction that hit, after getting out of prison a few months earlier, and knowing that everyone would point the finger at him. The newspaper were constantly talking about Gallo when he got out the pen, saying that he had improved racial conditions in the pen by breaking the color barrier thru getting haircuts by black guys, and they predicted the war would resume..and this was before Joe Colombo was killed. Scarpa's fbi informant files show all his communications with Colombo at this time, and Colombo wanted peace. Scarpa killed many people, and told the FBI that it was Persico's fault...So knowing that Gallo would be the #1 suspect, I think Scarpa took him out. Even in the 90s, Scarpa blamed other people for the Colombo War when he was the guy who started the war and killed the most people in it..he literally killed dozens of people, and told the FBI Persico sanctioned it from the 60s-90s Knowing that he could wack Colombo, and the entire mob would think Gallo did it, he made his move. Plus, the Genovese accepted the Gallo members after a truce was settled..they lived and died naturally as capos..If they thought the gallos really killed Colombo, why would they allow them to become capos in the Genovese and retire when they got into their 90s?
@staren73543 жыл бұрын
Gallo being behind the Columbo hit never made sense to me. He didn't have the captains behind him, he didn't have the commision behind him, what would be the point? Who stood to gain with Columbo being gone? The government? Maybe... The Commision? Possibly... Carmine Persico? Defenetily...

@MrBinx-hd5fh2 жыл бұрын
@@HolloVVpoint Just because they weren't made men doesn't mean they were low level, and it definitely didn't mean they weren't heavy hitters. Especially Jimmy(DeNiro), for one Jimmy wasn't eligible to ever get made no matter how high he climbed or how many hits he did, because he was half Irish. He was the top guy in charge of the airport, which included truck hijackings, making it one of the family's most important rackets. Then to top it off he pulls off the biggest robbery in history at that time. After that he gets approval to whack the whole crew, like 4 to 6 guys all in the same time frame, which shows how much faith the family had in his abilities as a hit man. So he's one of their best earners, running his own crew, with his own territory, and doing hits left and right. If you were to compare him to a made man, he'd be the equivalent of a captain, and he'd be one of the more powerful captains at that.

There is a guy who's father was a Gallo guy on KZbin and he has refuted, with detailed reasoning that Sammy did not mention, Joey Gallo did not have anything to do with that hit but he claims it was Carlo Gambino and the other bosses. I enjoy these stories so much, and, they make me realize what a good guy you are, Sammy. Before I ever saw these, I thought you were just a cold blooded killer with no heart. I didn't know any better, but listening to the stories humanizes you so that we, who didn't know any better, can see what a good heart you have. I know it sounds countintuitive, but domehow you make it makes sense. Cudos to Sammy the bull!

Eager for the 2nd season of the podcast, can't wait to hear about the 1st meeting with John Gotti, Sammy, and Frankie. Also does anybody like when Sammy says "4 or 5?" "I'm gonna walk in with about 4 or 5 guys" scary shit....

@@idideleven hearing the old time Brooklynese brings back memories of my parents and grandparents. Also memories of having to take speech therapy in kindergarten & 1st grade, living in Dirty Jersey, so i could learn how to pronounce Rs.

Hate to say it, but he already did the first meeting with Gotti. Can't remember the episode though.
