I was 23 years old when this song came out and pregnant with my first child. I was so filled with emotions, and I listened to it over and over again. It had so much impact on me for some many reasons. Her voice just slays me with its raw honesty and soulful intensity. Nothing Compares to U, Sinead O'Connor. RIP. You are already missed.

Time stands still when Sinead sings this. I have always loved this cover, the wonderful Prince couldn't have had a better voice than hers to sing it. Sinead's vocal was among the best, she went through the octaves so effortlessly. A truly talented artiste, who endured so much agony in her youth which, strangely, created such talent in her art. I believe the death of her son Shane was the last straw for her, and that she died from a broken heart. I'm not religious, but I hope that Sinead is at one with Shane now and that they are both at peace.
