Pigeons and doves constitute the bird family Columbidae and the order Columbiformes, which includes about 42 genera and 310 species. The related word "columbine" refers to pigeons and doves. Pigeons and doves are stout-bodied birds with short necks, and short slender bills that, in some species, feature fleshy ceres. They primarily feed on seeds, fruits, and plants. It all comes from the human's misunderstanding about them. They don't carry more disease than normal pets do and they won't pass anything to u. Actually they r very clever, semi tame and clean birds. If there is water, they will bath themselves at least once every day, probably more than a lot of human being.

Tbh, the rock pigeon (regular city pigeon) is beautiful as well, but is not seen that way because of how common they are. It is a similar case with the Passenger Pigeon, which no one thought much of because it used to be one of the most abundant birds in the world. Now, they are extinct.
