For road and gravel, yes. I used to race XC in the early 90s on a Fat Chance Yo Eddy, the greatest steel hardtail of the time; but I admit that mountain bikes need to have more capability now. But road and gravel don’t have such requirements and steel is still extremely viable.

Such a stunning pain job. Elegant, simplistic and functional, like a classic Italian bike. Any idea of the weight of the complete bike as is in this configuration? I can't image the weight penalty is much over a carbon frame these days.

Hi, thanks for this review. Is this beauty also available in one of the 12 cromovelato colors instead of the two-tone white plus color? And: Assuming you have the right wheels, is the bike also suitable as a road bike, let's say with 32mm wheels?

Hello there, this video is basically a first look, the review will come later. Battaglin doesn't have a lot of details on the website, but I believe all 12 Cromovelato colors are available. Definitely send them an email message to confirm. You could easily use a second pair of wheels with this bike for pavement ride, as long as you're comfortable with a 1x only configuration. Looks great. But why did they not call it "sentiero" or "grinta"? Steel is an excellent material for a gravel bike, and in many ways superior to carbon. It flexes to dampen vibration and resists stone damage.
