I'm glad this is fixed...it was driving me crazy. :) If you feel a pop, loose, clunk, clang, not right sensation in your steering wheel then this is the part you need to cure it. #trucks #superduty #diesel

A noticeable pop in the steering wheel that can be felt in the accelerator pedal. My 2019 F350 SD has been doing this since 24k miles. If I turn the wheel to the right and his the accelerator, a sharp noticeable pop.

I recently bought a used 2019 F350 dually. 110k miles. I have this issue also. Clunking in some turns, going over some bumps, sometimes when I accelerate and wheel turned, etc. I also feel it in the accelerator pedal. I’m going to check this on mine asap. Thank you for the video!

Took mine off to inspect it, felt a very fine dead spot in the upper joint. After putting it back on, now have a pretty significant knock in the colum at Freeway speeds. Craziest stuff..... 🤷 UPDATE: Replaced the shaft and just like 4-Low. Magic all pops, knocks, whatever you want to call it..... Gone. Also this is shaft #2 for my truck. Saw in the service history that original owner had it replaced at 27k miles. I currently have 40k. I don't beat on the truck either. I think some company needs to make a stronger shaft.

Thank you for this video, I will definitely be giving this a try. Did you have to get an alignment and what torque specks ?
@lees59534 ай бұрын
Why not demonstrate the noise, so we will know? It would’ve been more helpful. That noise can be a few things, the steering gearbox, steering linkage, might need a stabilizer to strengthen the front end. I have a noise as well and was curious what you heard. Thanks.

Anyone have a torque spec for those 2 bolts? For what it's worth F150 spec is: Top 35ft lb Bottom 22ft lb

How many miles were on the truck? I’ve got a clunk in right front wheel. Replaced ball joints and didn’t get rid of it. Might be something in my hub.

Mine has been replaced twice. Has to go in for a third time.

Did you also feel the popping when accelerating too? I think this is the same issue I am facing.

Not so much. Mostly over bumps.

So glad I came across this video. Both the dealership and my own mechanic couldn’t feel it…but I can. Looking forward to ordering and replacing. Thanks for making the video!

What about the upper steering shaft? Is it possible to replace it myself? Thank you

Could this be related to bumps in my pedals? I think I've heard it is related I have the steering wheel bumps and my pedals feel loose

My 2019 superduty has had this slight clunk in the steering wheel in right hand turns only for 3 years. Dealer or anyone else can never feel it, drives me nuts. Whats a dealer charge to replace this? Can this be catastrophic if not replaced?

Got the same truck and exactly the same thing. Mine pops on right turns and on inclines when I accelerate. 2019 F350 SD. Took it to the dealership and told them the very same symptoms but they "can't replicate the problem." Been happening since 24k miles.
@mikedirks588920 сағат бұрын
@@BigDaddyCane777 How many miles you got on it? I have replaced ball joints, tie rod ends, track bar to cure it and only have 50k miles on mine.
@BigDaddyCane77720 сағат бұрын
@mikedirks5889 I took the truck in to have it looked at when it had 30k on it. I have ~72k now. It's popped through the wheel and accelerator for about 50k miles and the geniuses at the dealership look at you like you're either a liar or insane when you tell them about this.
@BigDaddyCane77720 сағат бұрын
@@mikedirks5889 it's not the suspension, though I've had suspension problems with the tie rod ends, stabilizer linkage, etc. But this particular problem is the steering shaft. I know *exactly* what you're talking about. I thought the suspension was about to come unglued. Mine is 4x4 and has the solid front axle/differential, which is a luxuroius ride in a one ton.
