I totally forgot to mention how the doors will all re-lock on you after 30 seconds unless you quickly get outside and open a door following an unlock using the fob. UGH.... that pisses me off. And we won't rehash the power steering that doesn't feel like power steering. The steering on this truck feels EXACTLY like my buddy's old 1987 Nissan Hardbody pickup that didn't have power steering.

Washer fluid concern - Hold the lever longer & wipers will activate with the fluid spray.
@Andi_Doci

About the washer fluid, I think it's great! If there is dry debris, like bird droppings or bugs, you might want to let it soften up before you run the rubber blade over it, this way it saves fluid and the blade.

I think any vehicle made today has it’s pros and cons. While some of the features you described are not a big deal, if you get enough of those “little” things, you start to question what other vehicles have. I personally like the 22 Frontier over the others(GM twins, Ranger, Taco, and Gladiator). Their is a balance or trade of if you will from the others. Frontier ain’t perfect, but I still think it’s a good value and some of those little features I could easily add myself or live with without regret 👍 IMHO Looking forward to your “pros” video about the truck. Looking good 👍 Edit: if you hold the washer stalk a bit longer when you spray, it WILL wipe as well. My Honda did similar. Seat belt chime is usually a chime module that is in the fuse box area, easy to unplug the module/chime maker 😉 Certain models do have the compass.

I thought the "manual shift mode" was really meant as a gear limiter. So, it means if you put it in 4, and come to a stop, it will shift as usual 1, 2, 3, and stop at 4. It may also be used as a form of engine braking I think. Keep in mind, this is not the same as the manual shift modes on sports cars/sedans. My Lexus GS350 had a + - mode and it was a genuine sport manual shift feature. Trucks are not fast machines so the application is different.

I have a '23 ProX. It has a compass in the dash options. Plus the navigation screen shows your direction of travel. The manual shift mode works perfectly on mine. Shift as you accelerate, it's all good. Shift up to 6th gear and leave it there, it stays in 6th. I do think 9 speeds is overkill. Agree that the seats are a bit narrow. Do like the console better than the 2010 Pro4x I had. The bizarre thing I dislike is the steering wheel is offset about 2 inches to the left relative to the center of the seat. My 2010 was offset too but not as much. Anyways, good luck with your Frontier.

My 2023, Pro 4X, has a very large and nice compus in the info screen between the speedometer and tach. Also, the map on the 9" entertainment center has an easy to read compus My experience with the windshield washer is that it is delayed. If you spray an extra ½ second, the blades activate. I really like this delay because you actually get fluid on the glass before the blades start. Also, my Frontier doesn't automatically lock the doors. Kind of wish it did And the seat belt chime does shut off after a little time. But also, I found a link that says it can be turned off. I'll update if it works.

I have a few Nissan Frontier's in my fleet here in ATL. First off I will agree the lack of the telescoping wheel is a huge miss! The auto high beams work the same way in a few of my personal cars. If you want to intentionally blind oncoming traffic, yes you have to switch it to manual mode. As far as the washer, I find that feature works great when you fuel up , want to squeegee the windshield and yet all you have IS the squeegee, no water or cleaner mix in the bucket. Keep in mind this truck while "redesigned" is actually riding on the older frame. Nissan did this as they are low on cash and did not want to blank slate a new truck. Remember, the older trucks had the new drive train in them 3.8L vs 4.0L . As for lifting any truck, you are on your own. Automotive engineers have Masters degrees and years of experience in designing suspensions for ride AND safety. The people who build lifts kits? Questionable. Cheers-Alina

The windshield washer fluid function works perfect here in New England. The Frontier was my first pickup truck, and I spent a year researching which truck to buy. The Frontier met and exceeded all my expectations. I really found only one problem for me and that was the trailer hitch recess. The rear bumper interferes with my riser hitch. However, I can turn down the hitch and it works perfectly fine for my boat and trailer. I have only one trailer that sits a little low because I can't turn around the riser. I will buy another riser hitch and see if it works. The no compass doesn't bother me as I use my Iphone. I absolutely love the seats. I never thought about the High beam and the seat belt chime. I plan on keeping the stock suspension.

I’ve owned a few Nissans over the years and I’m shocked to hear about the seatbelt chime, as all the models I’ve had didn’t even have one at all. Just the seatbelt light would come on but no noise. I’ve never seen a washer fluid spray without the wipers coming on in any of the vehicles I’ve owned. The sad thing about the issue he makes about the seatbelt chime is that no matter where he is at, be it his farm, private land, Indian reservation or a private commercial property the seat belt must be engaged before the vehicle is put in motion by law and most insurance will void any claims of injury for a passenger not properly secured by safety restraints. That is why most collectible antiques that register for road use must have compliant safety restraints installed and in use or they can not be driven period. This off-roader is a very uninformed vehicle operator. I hope he is a better off road driver than he is an informed influencer in you tube.

Unless you like the looks of the new one there isn't much difference. Mostly same underpinnings using the same F-Alpha chassis. Some of the higher tech is problematic. The adaptive cruise control is a joke. If the truck slows down a few MPH it will gun it and down shift 4 gears and revv up to 5500 rpms just to catch up a few MPH. LOTS of complaints with that one. Outside of the new motor and 9 speed the rest is a let down. And even that is a poor choice since they really didn't produce more low end torque. Nissan should have done allot more. Once you see the new Colorado and Ranger come out next year you will know what I mean. This truck is going to be dated in less then a years time.

I don't have the issue you mentioned about manual shifting. I use mine off road and it stays in the gear I shift to even if the rpm's get up there past where it would normally shift. The wipers hold the spray down and it runs the blades. A few other things you mentioned seem like you got a truck without the options you wanted. Nissan is great about msking add on tech features. if you have the tech package the nav system is you compass. I do agree these need telescopinh steering wheel. there needs to be fender flair options too. Hopefully soon someone will make some aftermarket ones that don't require replacing the painted fender with a pro4x one. I did the 2.5 lift level kit kit didn't need camber bolts or upper control arm. Dealer said they are adjustable for a few degrees. Which was enough for this lift.

This is a great video. Cursory reviews are fun to watch but It’s nice to see real world content that shows what its like to live with a vehicle on a daily basis. I actually like the fact that Nissan gives you the ability to soak the windshield with washer fluid so that the bugs and mud can be softened before the wipers are manually activated. This is an old school feature from older cars that I actually miss. The windshield washer “problem” that you pointed out is a small thing that actually influences me toward the Frontier over the competition. Excellent video… thank you.

Haven't read all the comments yet, but it's like the new 2022 Civic when turning off the auto-high beams. You have to flash the high beams manually (pull back on the stalk). That cycles it off. To turn it back on, repeat the process.

My Wife has a fully loaded SV Gen 3 same color as yours. On my Gen 2 I installed an ADO 2" lift With Bilstein shocks and there Broverland Leaf Springs. I never changed the bolts in my front end and I have 180.000 Miles on it. The truck currently is riding on 33"Falken Wildpeaks The Tires have just shy of 50.000 miles on them. I'm due for a new set. But as far alignment the truck drives straight and true. The truck get's hammered on. Tire wear is pretty much perfect IMO. I don't believe her new truck is much diff suspension wise. I think Nissan has these trucks pretty much dialed in at this point. When I crawl under her truck to do fluids It's like I am under a newer cleaner version of mine. I gotta agree with you on the seats. The cab def feel narrower,. But man are the newer seats wrapped in leather way more comfortable.

On the driver seating room, the shiny plastic door trim protrudes out to a narrow edge. My knee goes right there. Additionally, the handle thing on the center console also is right where my knee goes. This makes the driver seating more narrow than it needs to be, and removes 2-3 inches of available space to spread your legs and rest your knees. Not a deal breaker, but they could have not added those trim pieces.

Bro, you're nitpicking the shit out of this thing, and only after 1248 miles. I have 13k miles on mine and I've put this thing through the paces for sure. I think most of your complaints are personal preferences. Lack of a compass? How often do you use a compass (especially when you have Android Auto or Apple Carplay)?? With that said, I am not a fanboy and I do have on bizarre quirk I've noticed (not a complaint but just something unusual): it tells you your average MPH under the speedometer -- not sure how useful that would be. Other than that, damn happy with this truck. With that said, love your videos and thanks to you I have the oil pan skid plate installed. Appreciate that video that you did.

The strangest thing I’ve noticed is that I constantly have to adjust my seat back. It’s always leaning farther back than when I got out of the truck. The lack of telescoping steering wheel is annoying. So far, haven’t really been bothered by any of the other stuff you’ve mentioned. The transmission does seem to be indecisive at times.

Agree: my prime complaint about the Japan brands is the interiors are designed for the smaller Asian physique. People over 6ft tall will suffer from the small seats, backrests, bolsters, seat height, steering position, etc. Nissan has the zero gravity, but the overall size is an issue. The Titan has larger seats, but still not 100% right for tall people. Also, I want power and lumbar for both driver and passenger as standard gear.

The seats and the driving position on my 2016 SV 4X4 is perfect, the most comfortable of any vehicle I have ever owned. A friend bought a '16 Tacoma at the same time I got my Frontier, and he had to get a kit to raise the seat height because it was just too "carlike", according to him. All in all, I love everything about my truck.

I bought the Pro4X last July and traded in my 2019 Ranger FX4. The Nissan is a lot nicer in my opinion. I like the engine on the Nissan better than the turbo 4cyl. The interior is much nicer also. I've noticed many of the things you're talking about, but 2 of my gripes are there are no electric folding mirrors and the rearview mirror doesn't auto dim. Even my Ranger had the folding mirrors on a lower trim level. I really like the LED headlights on the Nissan. The halogen lights on the Ranger were awful even with the brightest halogen bulbs I could find. I also couldn't see many of the dash buttons at night in the Ranger with the brightness turned all the way up. Btw, the Pro4X does have a compass in the gauge cluster menu. I'm not sure why something like that would only be on the higher trims. I can't imagine it cost much if anything. I'm wondering if the most expensive package has the power folding mirrors. Overall I'm very happy and I got a great trade for the Ford.

I have a 22 with whatever package that puts the garage door buttons on the mirror. It also has an on / off button that turns the auto high beam low beam option off. I noticed that yours doesn't have those buttons which is weird. My biggest issue is the adaptive cruise control. It drives me nuts when a car moves out of the way and the truck wants to floor it to get back up to speed! Another thing that bothers me is if you remote start the truck, get in it and touch the gear shifter with out hitting the start button the truck just shuts off.

So I have this truck, you may do well to read the manual. lets start from the top. on the window washer you have to keep the washer lever pulled back and after a couple of seconds the auto washer activates after its been spraying for 2 seconds. the automatic headlight dimming function turns off when you turn off the auto switch on the headlights to the "on" position, you just use them as a manual at that point and the compass is in the dash menu between the rpm and speedometer. you have the option to bring the compass to the front of the display as a function that is always on if you just scroll through it.

All of your dislikes or oddiities are Nissan specific. Ifyou completed a good review prior to purchasing you would have known all these things. Yes, Nissan knows owners will lift or lower their vehicles. Yes, for a new Nissan owner in the 2020's these things would be frustrating/odd. Get to know what you are buying before you buy, then find the oddities that are really odd. The new Frontier is a basic no frills Four Wheel Drive truck. Because it doesn't need all of that when it does everything it is expected to do as a 4WD. This type video goes back to your CAI you purchased. There is a manual for installation, which you download from their web site. Hindsight at this point, but it explains all of your issues you had. The biggest thing I wish the PRO-4X had from the factory would be an option to have a 3" lift for larger tires. But that is what aftermarket is for. Hence, why NISMO is working this. There is a 6" system available, however, it isn't for the PRO-4X.
