Rich, I enjoy watching your site because I grew up in S Florida. Your insights into inshore fishing remind me of my early years of fishing. Snook fishing was the target at that time. A minimum size was 18 inches with a personal limit of four was very generous for the time. Almost all of my fishing was done from the shore. Later I went out on party boats, but inshore was my passion! Keep it coming Rich! I love your instincts and determination.

Been back in the mitten for over 15 years, but lived in North Port for 2 1/2 years. Fished every day for a year and a half. Watching your videos floods me with memories. We were chumming for yellowtail out of Jupiter and had a couple small bonito that I was cutting up for chum. My cousin dared me to eat a piece of a bonito. Being it was just caught and literally bled as I hacked it up on the bait board for chum, I took him up on the dare. It actually did not taste too bad. A little wasabi and soy and probably you could not tell the difference between it and yellowfin or blackfin sashimi. I would not want to try it with a large one, but a dink actually tasted pretty good.

Yeah it’s not bad at all. If you compare it to bluefin, yellowfin, and Blackfin then there’s a big difference. When I was in college I caught some false albies/bonita and my friends wanted to tuna so I served them that with soy, and spicy Mayo and they all devoured it.

hey rich, what size/make hooks are you using for those medium sized mullet? seems to get a perfect hookset almost every time.

I’m using a Mustad perfect demon in-line circle hook 1x 8/0. For the big jacks a 9/0 would probably work as well.
